The term "Global Warming" appears to me to be more "complete" that the term "Peak Oil" does.
"Global Warming" sums it all up. "Peak Oil" is missing some words I think. A complete term would be "Peak Oil Production Rates".
Just plain "Peak Oil" is majorly confusing because it looks superficially like the world is running out of oil. It's not about running out of oil. That is totally the wrong thing. It's about using up the fossil fuels that can be processed rapidly enough to meet growing demands. Once the limit of production rates are hit then growth is strangled. Once growth is strangled then the writings of Carl Marx about the demise of capitalism become true. The problem is that today's loans are underwritten by tomorrow's growth. Once it becomes evident that there will be no more growth it's all over--the fat lady starts to sing.
