Can we rock after peak oil?

Peak oil threatens the fun for people who like rock n' roll music. Think about it. Rock requires amplifiers, lights, mixing boards, steel, and many other manufactured goods.

Is rock dead? Or can we keep on rockin' in the peak world?

If we're going to have death and destruction, I'd far rather it be the heavy metal or punk rock kind where people express their nihilistic rage through song and don't actually hurt anybody.

Rock shows may decline somewhat, sometime much later.

I don't think rock will die within the next 50 years. Electricity will still be available I believe.

Rock is already dead to me. These days, I prefer Country Western music. I liked the late 70s and early 90s rock though. Metallica, AC/DC, Pantera, LA Guns specifically.

Really, how much power, average does a powerfull amp take? Not very much thinks I. You could provide it with a small hydro setup or person power.
