People want to compare him to Hitler but that is a poor comparison. Hitler worked for decades building his loyal cadre that was pretty effective at running the machine. Trump is a lone wolf from the start who has a bunch of “personalities” trying to do grown ups jobs. His “machine” is hastily thrown together and not at all cohesive. He may want to be a Hitler, he is more like a Nero.

Are you suggesting that in the future the US military will copy the Imperial Roman Pretorian Guard and depose Trump or do him harm?
Personally I see no sign of that happening. If anything, the military seems to be strongly backing Trump as shown by the fact that they are effectively carrying out his commands on unpopular things like sending troops into Washington DC and other crime-ridden big cities, bombing the Iranian nuclear facilities, stopping and starting aid to Ukraine, and just today the US navy blew up a supposed Venezuelan drug running boat, all just as Trump commanded.

When I referred to the Pretorian Guard I was not thinking of the military nor of an actual physical murder.
In today’s context the “Pretorian Guard” would more likely be some group who closely surround the President. Should they see him going too far off the rails and acting so as to endanger their positions they might do something that would cause him to step down or be removed by an Article 25 or release some information so damaging the public would demand his resignation.
It is those closest to him he needs to fear most for they have the means to unseat him.
Not predicting anything just noting the vulnerabilities.
I don’t at all see the military involved. He has removed something like the 20 most senior general officers and replaced them with loyalist.
No, it would be more like Vance and Bondi working together to release the worst of the Epstein Files, and make it seem like he was trying to cover them up. Something like that.
