A similar study found that people who drank 1-2 drinks/day had a higher life expectancy than people who engaged in both higher and lower or no consumption. A followup study corrected the low/nil alcohol group, by taking out the reformed alcoholics and abstainers for health reasons (usually liver damage from hepatitis/drugs) and found the life expectancy for the low/nil group was actually slightly better than the moderate group.
I wonder if in this study they neglected to take into consideration the reformed alcoholics and the people who don't drink for health reasons.
Kind regards, Katkinkate
