$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Tanada', '
')I do think however celebrating people afraid of needles in general or vaccines in particular dying of Covid is a rather extreme position to take in the whole debate.
I have to agree with that. And the ironic thing is that much of the celebrating I've seen going on along that line is with liberals, re things like the NYT editorial pages, celebrating lots of GOP voters dying. (Good old politics -- **sigh**). Those same liberals who act like any irresponsible person not given "enough" government program money is an epic tragedy -- and to hell with the consequences to the debt pile and the economy.
OTOH, I think protecting society over time needs to come before irrational fears, etc, to the extent that vaccine mandates SHOULD be used to the point of establishing solid herd immunity. That still leaves SIGNIFICANT room for exceptions for those with meaningful issues established by a doctor's medical evaluation.
How many years or even decades of the self inflicted costs to society is enough? And why aren't those so against hurting the economy re Covid-19 impacts so unwilling to do what clearly HELPS the economy, re reducing the threat?
Oh, that's right -- in their mind, they know more about everything than all the combined knowledge of the experts.

Which is so stupid, it's why mandates should override their delusions, IMO.
Given the track record of the perma-doomer blogs, I wouldn't bet a fast crash doomer's money on their predictions.
