41... how the hell did that happen?
The problem is, of course, that not only is economics bankrupt, but it has always been nothing more than politics in disguise... economics is a form of brain damage.

27 years. conventionally, i still have around 43-48 years of life left if i leave to the standard age. not much really when you think about it.

i cant imagine what things will be like in 2048 when i'm 70 though... will it be like WaterWorld - which i saw last night and which was a bit crappy.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('stupid_monkeys', 'm')aybe the elders of our culture would be respected if they didn't fuck everything up. to put it mildly...

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('stupid_monkeys', 't')here is a simple rebuttle to your arguments: survival =/= excess

rationalize it any way you want, but your generation specifically had a clear choice...and boy did you choose.

Bahahahahahahaha

And then thirty years go by and some young punk says "boy did you guys fuck it up!"

What are you gonna say then?

You're just as bad as the boomers themselves. carrying signs saying "Never trust anyone over thirty" and suddenly they themselves are 55 saying "uh, we'd like to take that back."

Well I don't think that I can convince any of you elders that you did indeed buy into the consumption culture hook line and sinker and then passed it onto us like a genetic disease. You had a choice, and you chose the blue pill.

Indeed every species hits its carrying capacity. But aren't we supposed to be different? Aren't we supposed to be 'smarter?'

As my username implies, I am clearly playing the devil's advocate (in the previous paragraph). The purpose is to show you that everything we believe about ourselves is deceiving.

But if we become aware that we were wrong about our intelligence, maybe we can truly become conscious, and evolve.

I'm not going to respond to every point made. As gego said, I do have priorities to deal with, and convicing a few senior citizens that they are gullible, literally to the point of idiocy, is no fun.

I know how you feel, I was so busy being busy I didn't realize I'm now 37. Ouch! I don't feel that old and if one of my kids hadn't taken to reminding me how old I am, I'd still be replying I was 27 when anyone asks me. Luckily I only look 30. :-D if that.

SnM:

The point is more important that it doesn't matter shit what you do. You don't know that the first poster swallowed the blue pill do you? You only know where the culture went. What if the first poster is eco-hippie #1? How much difference did it make - and is he still responsible for the sins you say his generation committed?

So what about you? What correct choices are you making that will turn your entire generation in the "right" direction.
