This is what gets me about this conversation. The repubs treat this immigration thing as a national security issue. Like the Muslims and Mexicans are bringing in drugs and terrorism. That is so much bullshit. It's about planetary limits, peak oil, peak phosphorus over population. But that kind of thinking is the last thing that enters the mind of a partisan repub. Say 'planetary limits' to Donald? I can't imagine an intelligent response. Maybe I am wrong. Maybe I am too partisan?

As uncontrolled immigration goes on the problems of drugs and terrorism come to a head long before the limits to local resources reach a critical level. Taking a first things first approach the Republicans will stop immigration long before crowding becomes an issue.
Even if they see both problems clearly they will deal with the terrorism and drug smuggling first as to solve one solves the other.
