$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('BabyPeanut', '')$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('MonteQuest', 'H')as anybody else noticed that the History Channel, primarily Modern Marvels, has been laying the groundwork for peak fossil fuels?
Weak, really weak. If they wanted to do a show on Peak Oil instead of beating around the bush then they should just do it.

Weak, weak, weak on purpose. Can't feed the whole bale of hay in one setting.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('MonteQuest', 'C')an't feed the whole bale of hay in one setting.

And why not? This isn't 1985. We are watching the price of regular gas go over $2.60 now. Heating oil trading for almost 1.80/gal in JULY. We are at war with Iraq. FOX FX has disaster movies about Peak Oil going on. There are over 700,000 google hits for peak-oil (hyphen forces words to appear side-by-side.) Local news papers are explaining exactly what's going on. Why beat around the bush?

Probably because the markets would react unfavorably.

Well maybe it's time to start charging for what oil is really worth...

Wait! No! I still need my NASCAR and buckets of Chick'n and Mega Malls and $490 air tickets and round-the-clock A/C and SUV and and...

The fact is that if they did start saying what we all know it's not like panic and distruction that would come with it is not going to be easy to take for most people.

There will be lots and lots of people who will be without a job and struggling to get by. People who work in the auto industry and auto support industry airlines and all tha goes with it. There will be quickly massses of unemployed with now where to work.

I think that PO has caught tptb some what by suprise. I bet most politcos just did not want it to happen on there watch.

I saw that doomsdat tech a couple of months ago...I was a bit disapointed at how long they gave to nukes but so short on oil depletion...but hey, atleast they mentioned it.

I was also quite interested in the "grey goo" senario of nano-tech.

Iran: The Next Iraq on History Channel Tonight

Postby duke3522 » Thu 09 Mar 2006, 23:26:54

At 11pm Eastern US time. And repeated at 3am Eastern US
Also tonight Declassified: Ayatollah Khomeini. On right now but repeated at 2am Eastern US.
I am going to watch both and report back. Very surprised at the "Iran: The Next Iraq" Title. Maybe good info. Maybe a propaganda hachet job. We will see.

My god, is the writing already on the walls with America's next war. These are indeed scary times we are living in. I have been in almost continual panic for the last two weeks. This is a down right chilling report.

“The broad mass of the nation ... will more easily fall victim to a big lie than to a small one.” — Adolf Hitler, in his 1925 book Mein Kampf

“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it.” — Nazi Propaganda Minister Joseph Goebbels

“Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.” — Nazi Reich Marshal Hermann Goering, before committing suicide at the Nuremberg Trials

Hey Folks,

Both shows had some excellent history, and were not always kind to the US government and its bungling of its relations with Iran since WW2. And the producers drew the conclusion that US land war with Iran not likely. US air strikes at Iran’s nuclear facilities, almost a certainty.

They also mentioned several counterattack possibilities the Iranians might undertake. Like more bombings in Europe and the US. But they never mentioned Iran turning off the oil spigot.

Also, the program documented that the US supplied Iraq the money for, and Israel sold Iraq the components for the Gas weapons he used against the Iranians during the Iran/Iraq war.

The American people, us, stupified by consumerism and newspeak, have allowed the illigitimate, incompetent, psychopathic nihilists in DC to bring us to the brink of annihilation. We've had plenty of time to remove these war criminals, now, it looks like they will have to be removed by forces outside our society. The German people could have gotten rid of Hitler--few Germans wanted another war--but they didn't; and the rest of the world had to do it for them. Millions died.

All this for a petroindustrial "civilization" that is doomed anyway. Humans suck!

What really got me was oil was barely mentioned at all. It is pretty obvious that Iran's most powerful weapon against he west is their ability to cut off a huge chuck of the world's oil supply. But no mention of that in these shows at all.

So at times I thought I was watching a US psyops production. But they were pretty blunt about why the Iranians have reason to hate us. If these programs were the product of US government propagandist then they are very talented.

Reel to Real - History Channel

Postby Pablo2079 » Wed 19 Jul 2006, 13:51:39

The Road Warrior was on The History Channel over the weekend. I was surprised to see it on THC. Very odd!

Then, at a commercial break, it became apparent why they were playing it. They show movies that they think have gone from fiction to reality. They call it "REEL to REAL". I suppose they must have been referring to the idea of oil running out, not the actual storyline!

The Road Warrior isn't fiction, it's a documentary from the future.

directed energy weapons - history channel

Postby eric_b » Thu 02 Nov 2006, 05:39:56

Google video. Heavily compressed but watchable.
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid ... le+machine

Shows the decades long largely secret development of these weapons. EMP, etc. They also discuss one interesting 'event' that took place in 1978 (?).

Unfortunately some of the more exotic technologies now out there that can be used to monitor ones mental state (and influence behavior) remotely are not discussed. Though it's good to finally see more awareness of these devices.

Postby uNkNowN ElEmEnt » Thu 25 Oct 2007, 18:25:38

There is a promo airing that claims that Nostradamus' last book was hidden for 500 years and that he saved his biggest prediction for last. It claims he predicted our doom as of 2012.

Airing on the History Channel Sunday at 9pm. (don't know if that's eastern of pacific, probably pacific though).
