$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('SeaGypsy', 'C')annabis has never been proven to have killed anyone.... This study convinces me of nothing.
Actually marijuana has now been proven to cause strokes, and strokes do kill people. Strokes also cripple people in horrible ways. And the cumulative effects of mini-strokes can cause vascular dementia---ie senility.
Medical science is changing rapidly. The new imaging technologies available now allow doctors to very clearly identify anomalous changes in the brain. Through standard epidemiological methods its now been shown that there are an unusually high number of strokes of a specific type in relatively young people who use marijuana. Chances are marijuana users who don't stroke are nonetheless undergoing brain damage in the form of plaque buildup, reduced blood flow to the brain, and increased danger of mini strokes and vascular dementia. I understand that you personally cannot accept these scientific findings, but these findings nonetheless represent an important advance in our understanding of the medical problems caused by marijuana use.
The medical evidence now shows that marijuana causes plaque buildup in the brain and damages blood circulation in the brain and causes a greatly increased incidence of strokes. These findings raise serious concerns about the safety of this drug.
cheers!
