$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('SeaGypsy', 'W')here are your ideas Mosennui? Talk about pissing in the wind, there are few such armchair critics as you. How did your stupid little animation go at changing the status quo?
At one time someone in the transition movement blasted me for having a "Moses" complex. I've never forgotten that critique, and eventually, after I realized I was indeed pissing in the wind, that the message I had to give was falling on deaf ears, I realized she was right, and that it was NOT MY PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY to save the world, that you could lead a horse to water but not make them drink, that I decided to tend my own garden and stop advocating any sort of macro-level advocacy.
There's a lot of paper tigers out there who think if they just post enough rants on a forum or comments under a news article they are going to somehow apply measurable body-english to the larger collective consciousness. It doesn't work, but if you really want to do that, your best bet is to take your case somewhere other than a place that has, at best, a dozen active posters and a small number of lurkers behind them.
The
real reason people go to places like this is because they are silos where they can whine and moan amidst the like-minded. They want validation, not true political engagement. They have no guts to actually confront anyone on the other end of the ideological spectrum face to face, which is why the only way people like him, KJ, or you, deal with dissent like from me is to just hurl personal insults.
All I'm doing is calling people out to put their money where their mouth is. I'm tired of all this masturbatory talk about tearing down the old order that isn't ever going anywhere. It's just an adult version of tooth-fairy fantasizing.
