Sparky,
I turned out to be a panty-waisted, heart-bled, Take-It-All-And-Let-Gov-Sort-It-Out Liberal.

I like Careinke's Are You A Libertarian Quiz, at least it gave you a chance to be either wishy washy or a righteous Lib
LOL.
The legitimate object of government, is to do for a community of people, whatever they need to have done, but can not do, at all, or can not, so well do, for themselves -- in their separate, and individual capacities.

Economic Left/Right: -7.25
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -4.31

We're all left libertarian apparently.

I found the simple quiz at http://www.theadvocates.org/quiz/quiz.php to be just as leading.

I got "Young Outsider" -Young Outsiders express unfavorable opinions of both major parties. They are skeptical of activist government; a substantial majority views government as wasteful and inefficient.

Well I have helped a lot of twenty/thirty somethings become more self sufficient. Lots of them, including my youngest son and wife, have passed me by on the homesteading front.

There is no contradiction in wanting government regulation and program in one hand and in the other considering it as wasteful and self serving , essentially government return 50 cents in the dollar as service
wanting to make it more efficient in its essential duties doesn't strike me as an either/or proposition
many of the question gave Manichean choice between good and bad
I for one could argue both sides are right
as the Kajjit saying go
"Q'zi no Vano Tjzina valizz .....when I contradict myself , I am telling the truth !

or from the Latin
"A diabolo, qui est simia dei"
English equivalent: Where god has a church the devil will have his chapel.
"Very seldom does any good thing arise but there comes an ugly phantom of a caricature of it."

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'Y')oung Outsider
This relatively young, largely independent group holds a mix of conservative and liberal views. And while more lean toward the Republican Party than the Democratic Party, Young Outsiders generally express unfavorable opinions of both major parties. They are largely skeptical of activist government, as a substantial majority views government as wasteful and inefficient. Yet many diverge from the two conservative typology groups – Steadfast Conservatives and Business Conservatives – in their strong support for the environment and many liberal social policies. Compare groups on key issues.

I guess Relatively Young means I haven't gotten to the nursing home just yet? Or maybe I am so young at heart that it lowers my age?
$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Alfred Tennyson', 'W')e are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are;
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

I came out next generation left

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'G')enerally young, well-educated and financially comfortable, the Next Generation Left have very liberal attitudes on many issues, including homosexuality, abortion, the environment and foreign policy. While overall supportive of an activist government, most are wary of expanding the social safety net. Most also have relatively positive views of Wall Street’s impact on the economy. While most affiliate with the Democratic Party or lean Democratic, few consider themselves strong Democrats. Compare groups on key issues.

I'm young - woo hoo! 50 is the new 20!
