Personality Disorder Test, Are We Crazy?

Discussions related to the physiological and psychological effects of peak oil on our members and future generations.

Unread postby Tyler_JC » Fri 24 Jun 2005, 12:45:31

I consider anyone who scores low in everything to either be cheating on the test, or totally lacking personality. But remember, this is coming from a person who clearly has issues.

I guess PO is not a conspiracy theory if the majority of "us" are not paranoid. If everyone scored high or very high in that category, there might be a possibility that we're crazy. But this confirms my theory.

PS. I have a seriously messed up friend who scored high or very high in EVERYTHING. Needless to say, I don't talk to her that much anymore...

I guess the reason I only scored low or medium on that test was revealed in their Dante’s Inferno test where I was cast into the second level of Hell – I won’t elaborate on the details…
The legitimate object of government, is to do for a community of people, whatever they need to have done, but can not do, at all, or can not, so well do, for themselves -- in their separate, and individual capacities.

Schizoid, hmmmm...

Well, I've always liked being alone even when I was a little kid, although I never minded the company of a good dog and have owned quite a few of them. But I never thought of it as schizoid. I took the Myers-Briggs Personality Test once and found I was an INTP - Introspective, Intuitive, Thinking, Perceiving personality. This would correspond with someone who likes ideas and information alot, would be a good research scientist, economist, financial analyst, college professor or something. I also studied classical piano for years and this fit right in. And I truly admire jazz pianists like Brad Mehldau, Bill Evans, Herbie Hancock...those are much more creative, artistic types. I wish I could be more artistic.

I scored very high on Schizoid and low on everything else. This actually was helpful ... in a Peak Oil scenario, I need to go for the hermit(ess) in the woods scenario, and at all costs avoid the communal living scenario!

I also scored low on everything.

Meh... I scored low in everything except for Histrionic (moderate) and Narcissistic, also (moderate). I'm more balanced than I used to be ;-).

I don't believe for a moment that I'm crazy for doing the things I've been doing in response to peak oil- preparing to go to Texas for a trip to meet one of the other board members, and to then move him up to my place as a means of avoiding the problem of infrastructure breaking down and cutting us off from being able to work physically together.

In other words, he's coming up so we'll be able to work on the garden together, be able to pay off the mortgage that much more quickly, be able to just get beyond the "normal" belief that it's crazy to do such things as meet someone from the forums IRL from thousands of miles away, and to move them into your house...

But anywho... nevermind all that! Not on-topic so I'll just close fer now...

First Run Through:

Paranoid: Low
Schizoid: Low
Schizotypal: Low
Antisocial: Low
Borderline: Low
Histrionic: Moderate
Narcissistic: Moderate
Avoidant: Low
Dependent: Low
Obsessive-Compulsive: Low

Second run through - I changed the answer to some of the questions that I though I could answer in either way:

Paranoid: Low
Schizoid: Low
Schizotypal: Low
Antisocial: Low
Borderline: Low
Histrionic: High
Narcissistic: Moderate
Avoidant: Moderate
Dependent: Moderate
Obsessive-Compulsive: Moderate

I guess the actual result falls somewhere in between! I'm definatelt (accordin to this test although I can't identify with all of the characteristics of the disorder) Histrionic, and Narcissistic.

I didn't think that avoidant people would ever think about an issue like PO. It seems like your natural response would be to change the subject or find another, more cheerful thing to do.

Or perhaps you are only here like I am to become better informed about an important issue, and then do very little to change your personal life about it.

Well, I've changed somewhat, but I'm not building a greenhouse or anything like that at the moment.

Good grief. That explains quite a few things. I'm very, VERY messed up. F*CK THIS PLACE I'm IN! No wonder I still have that sniper/run-for-the-hills biasness, and struggling badly with the idea on community-based solutions. Sheesh.

Your Schizoid...ness is showing. I "scored" a very high in Schizoid. It basically means loner.

And I agree, hell is other people.

But not you guys, of course  .
