HEY! I resemble that remark!

And what's wrong with being paranoid? Ya know, if you weren't at least somewhat paranoid, you wouldn't be here.

And the people you have to watch out for are the borderline people. They'll go crazy and kill ya. We schizoids/antisocials will just run away from you rather than plot your doom.

And just because you think that Narcissists are problematic to your lifestyle doesn't change the fact that we're better than you. :P

Funny how so many scored lower than expected.

IMHO some of what today is seen as being a personality disorder was once an inborn survival mechanism example. Speaking prehistoric man here:

Being paranoid that a creature was in the shadows getting ready to pounce on you. Could be that which keeps you from getting eat-in.

Being avoidant lowered competition for food.

Schizotypal are the people who thought outside the box and resulted in advancements of society. Who would have ever thought to sharpen that stick or to add a rock on the end? Let alone to sharpen the rock?

Borderline could be thinking your with my tribe or against my tribe.

Histrionic are attention seekers. What better way to get attention than to bring home food or in some other way contribute to the tribe.

I could see an obsessive-compulsive going off because others just couldn't get the arrow head shaped right or tie the arrow head on the stick correctly so it would be effective and not come off easily.

Survival of the fittest isn't necessarily about being able to run a marathon. (It could be in a given circumstance) If a situation required a smarter person. Then intelligence would be the trait that was fittest. Being paranoid before hand and surviving would make paranoia the fittest.

Seeing a animal that was about to attack. Could require a paranoid trait to be 'on guard' in order to circumvent an attack.

So natural instilled some of these into us for a reason. Still to this day, many of these are required. Imagine a couple who read this board raising 2 children. When the world begins going through the more dramatic parts of change. These traits from our ancestors will kick in and become stronger in the children.

When parents teach their children. Aren't they a little obsessive-compulsive? I watched my ex-wife attempting to potty train her daughter. She was really obsessive-complusive. By 8 yo that little girl was a house cleaning obsessive-complusive just like mommy!

I guess the point of what I am writing and how it relates to this thread is these traits are not necessary of themselves bad!

So, the little voice in my head tells me I must go because somebody is watching me and everything around be isn't in its proper place and I am straying from the topic and I need to stair at myself in the mirror for awhile and one day I will be famous and power full and I don't want to get to close to anybody else and and and and ...............their coming to take me away, ha ha, their coming to take me away
Peace out!

I'm not inclined to see schizoid as a disorder. For a more elaborate explanation: http://www.pipeline.com/~dada3zen/schiz ... sorder.htm

I agree 100%.

Some people just don't like large crowds and big parties. I happen to be one of those people.

Being in a room with someone you have never met has a slight risk to it. (Could this person be a crazy axe murderer? I just don't know!).

Every additionally mystery man adds to the danger exponentially. Anyone who doesn't feel at least somewhat uncomfortable in a crowded subway car is beyond explanation to me. I would consider that person to have a survival disadvantage (more likely to get axed to death by one of the crazy people).

BrownGod, did you take the test?
I'm interested to see if you score "very high" in schizoid or paranoid like me.

...since you asked...
Paranoid: moderate
Schizoid: High

but the test in general exhibits socal bias in some questions more than any 'disorder' per se. Most particularly, it demonstrates the extravert bias, and as an introvert, I find it annoying. I get my energy by being alone (INTP), not by engaging in pointless chatter. So what?

As for the paranoid part, being skeptical seems like a survival skill. Trust of others is earned, but there are enough un-trustworthy people out there that it is only pragmatic to be cautious. Besides, being aware of their attempts to sap and impurify my bodily fluids, is just being prudent.

Been done somewhere oowolf, too lazy to find it.

Paranoid: High
Schizoid: Low
Schizotypal: Low
Antisocial: Low
Borderline: Low
Histrionic: Moderate
Narcissistic: High
Avoidant: High
Dependent:
Obsessive-Compulsive: Low

That's all fine and dandy but after clicking on the descriptions, I found that the areas in which I scored do not really correspond to how I react.

Paranoid: Admittedly a little but with good cause. Who hasn't been screwed over by a "friend"? I have little faith in the government to do the right thing.

Histrionic/Narcissistic: I suppose you could say that my job is performance dependent, and I related most of those questions to job performance. I'm not superior but I'm pretty good at what I do and have benchmark numbers to prove it. For me it's just a matter of pride and frankly I can obtain top wages for being that way. I have a very good relationship with my peers and find that the questions are too vague to make a real assumption.

Avoidant: Guilty as charged just don't like crowds and sharing space. Tend to have a tightknit group of friends. guess that makes me Histrionic/Narcissistic
You observed it from the start
Now you’re a million miles apart
As we bleed another nation
So you can watch you favorite station
Now you eyes pop out your sockets
Dirty hands and empty pockets
Who? You!

Schizotypal: Moderate
Antisocial: Moderate
Borderline: Low

So, I'm Narissistic Schioid, but only a moderate Avoidant?

I would have thought differently.

Schizotypal: Moderate
Antisocial: High
Borderline: Moderate
Histrionic: Very High
Narcissistic: Very High

Not sure what all this means, except probably to confirm what my wife's been saying about me for years
After fueling up their cars, Twyman says they bowed their heads and asked God for cheaper gas. There was no immediate answer, but he says other motorists joined in and the service station owner didn't run them off.
