ummm, I guess that the US population would not be good at conforming to either Government control or to a power-down, voluntary less consumption lifestyle. In terms of what is better to be under control by the authorities for the sake of maintaining public order or to let people improvise and have government recede in power, I would say the former. Somehow I do not think here in the US we would be good at any kind of self-regulation. After all are we not recognized globally as the spoiled country which undoubtedly we are. Somehow a country whose citizens are in great numbers into watching zombies, sporting events, into facebook and into addictions like gambling, sex, alcohol and drugs as well as being a country of people who do not like to be told what to do by anyone, the ideal candidates for self-control and self-regulation.
