I can see what you mean... exhaust one fuel move onto the next a bit like the way organisms (or even the sun) works getting less and less efficient
But I can only see this happenning if we continue to go for a maximum consumption style economy, which would be suicide
And also there's going to be one hell of a financial collapse which will challenge our assumption on how we consume the ground we're living on and all the stuff in it?
I just look around and all I see is waste, we don't need 90% of the junk we produce and the rest is designed not to last. ... yeah I didn't mean to say all we care about is material things.. but thats the message we are being given, and the nature of the consumptionist economy
If we don't invent a better system logic states the population will have to decrease surely we don't just live in an overgrown petri dish... !!?!?!
To be honest I've lost some sleep over peak oil, let it get to me, now I'm beginning to enjoy it, will we make it, will we screw up?
