I was simply pointing out that in the examples of authoritarianism given by Subjectivist they all had a plan. The objectives and plans were generally something that large proportions of the populace got behind, and people were willing to invest time and energy in the present for foreseen future benefit. I believe the sacrifice of democracy and the authoritarianism in the USSR under Stalin was wrong but you cannot deny that the changes brought about were enormous.
