Ever watch the Al Bartlett video?

The conundrum is that helping people only makes the over population matter worse.

What a great rationalization for being completely self absorbed.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('eastbay', 'H')e has adult children and had to leave his wife of 30+ years to make it happen.

Wow. How is she taking this life changing event. Do you think that his decision is fair to her? (I bet she thought she was going to live with her husband until one of them died.) He is an oath-breaker, in that he is negating his vow to HER.
I don't think very highly of that, even though I am sure everyone has made their "peace" with things....

...whatever...!! :?

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Graeme', 'H')e returned to Bosnia with aid 22 more times during the Bosnian War, and over the next 18 years his work expanded and evolved. Today, his program -- Mary's Meals, named after the Virgin Mary -- provides free daily meals to more than 400,000 children around the world.

Does the article mention what his salary from the charity is? I hate to be a feel good party pooper here, just want to point out that often times charity work actually pays very well.

That's not to say this isn't worthwhile work, or that there shouldn't be profit involved with charity -- if kept within reason, a profit motive is probably a good thing.

I'm just saying that sometimes charity work is like any other business venture or career choice, and people who profit from the work are just earning a living like everyone else.

What beer should I drink during the apocalypse?

Postby LaLaLand » Fri 20 May 2011, 12:18:08

Apparently, tomorrow is the end of everything, or whatever...

I will probably tend to my kale and go to an atheist party and celebrate the spirit (pun intended) of naive humanity. It's a BYOB party. So, what beer should I drink while all the true christian believers rise-up to heaven before me while I blow-up with a beer in my hand?

Oh yea, if I'm wrong and none of us survive, it was nice chatting with ya'll. Rock on!

Definitely Guinness Stout because all you sinners can drink and enjoy it at room temperature (or hotter  ) and there won't be any electricity after the chosen depart.

So why does one either claim to be Atheist or Christain, how about just seeking truth instead. The Apocalypse is only mentioned once in the Greek Bible, also it means 'lifting of the veil'. So, you tell me what the Apocalypse is? :)

Well there is a Apocalypse Cow beer. Don't think you could get any in time though. I'm going fishing tomorrow, so if raptured I hope its not while hooked up to a fish. There is a country music song, if heaven ain't a lot like dixie, I'll be humming.

My brew will be coors, yea, lame but its what I'm taking, and then only when back on shore.
If raptured, see you up there, if not but others are, our threads will change quickly.
Do you think the zombie posting on CDC has anything to do with it?
For a slight deviation, probably Odouls would be best for a zzombie invasion, shouldn't mess up your aim.

The End of History Ale: The World’s Strongest Beer Comes Inside a Dead Squirrel
$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'B')ritish brewery BrewDog is producing a $750 beer called "The End of History Ale." At 55 per cent volume, it's stronger than whiskey or vodka. Also, all the bottles are placed inside dead animals.

Have you ever though to yourself, "This Red Stripe sure is good, but what it really needs is a dead rodent wrapped around it? And also, to be so alcoholic it's nearly undrinkable?" Well, do I have a beer for you! The End of History Ale, of which only 12 bottles have been made, is claimed to be the world's strongest beer. It is also the world's grossest beer, due to the animals that function as cozies.

''This is the beer to end all beers. It's an audacious blend of eccentricity, artistry and rebellion; changing the general perception of beer, one stuffed animal at a time.

''The impact of The End Of History is a perfect conceptual marriage between taxidermy, art and craft brewing. The bottles are at once beautiful and disturbing - they disrupt conventions and break taboos, just like the beer they hold within them.''

End of History: Roadkill Beer Sells Out Within Hours
$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'D')espite selling for the equivalent of $770 per bottle, End of History sold out of its 12-bottle run within hours.

link

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'F')or those interested in the actual beer, it's a blond Belgian ale with touches of nettles and juniper berries -- and in order to achieve the brain-blasting alcohol content, it had to be created using extreme freezing techniques.

It's the Apocalypse damn it !! Don't cheapen the event by drinking beer! The moment calls for a single malt scotch, I recommend Aberfeldy 21 year old. :-D

I have some homemade metheglyn/melomel mead, bottled in 1996, still in my refrigerator. I'm saving it either for the apocalypse or for when I hear of the death of my ex-wife. Whichever comes first.

But if you really want to go out in style there is only one possible option and it is not beer. The most pleasant way I know to fry your brain.
