PO, I just grabbed the closing price on the charts according to the markets yesterday. Doh!
After fueling up their cars, Twyman says they bowed their heads and asked God for cheaper gas.There was no immediate answer, but he says other motorists joined in and the service station owner didn't run them off.

Since a new high and closing price were reported in the latest EIA download and there was a new leader of the game, here's the latest scorecard:

the average of the closing price is ~119$
as we get closer , the heavy tippers will come on top
already the under 100$ are losing hope

After 70 reported days of WTI oil prices, I compiled the game's leaders by percentage of the time they held the #1 spot so far this year:

Midessa back in first...and I'm still in 13th. I hate to say it but I hope I don't rise any higher in the standings, because damn this gasoline is getting expensive 8O

Checking the latest dl from EIA, a new high price of $113.93 was reported in the last week for WTI. Midessa has the #1 spot as of May 3rd. There's no need to post another scorecard at this time. There was no change of standings of the top four players shown above.

Since I still have a hellish commute to work for about 5 1/2 more years, I'm glad I bought that Honda Insight. I hope it will last that much longer.

TheDude took the #1 spot back after I entered a new closing price into the "What If" page of my workbook.

I made it out of the thirties briefly. I think I'll do better this year than last, but still might not win it. The real run up in oil prices starts next year, when supply falls way below demand. $4 gas may be here to stay according to this morning's report on NPR. I don't think it will go any higher this year, but I see it's creeping up this morning.
