Yep, it's already close to 111 and will doubtless hit 112 soon.

PO, I just grabbed the closing price on the charts according to the markets yesterday. Doh!

Since a new high and closing price were reported in the latest EIA download and there was a new leader of the game, here's the latest scorecard:

I'd be willing to swap you some of my HB for some peach wine, win or lose the challenge :)

After 70 reported days of WTI oil prices, I compiled the game's leaders by percentage of the time they held the #1 spot so far this year:
Daniel_Plainview 44%
TheDude 17%
no_name 16%
Cog 11%
kublikhan 6%
Midessa 4%
OilFinder2 3%

Midessa back in first...and I'm still in 13th. I hate to say it but I hope I don't rise any higher in the standings, because damn this gasoline is getting expensive 8O

jdmartin, did you get my pm?

Checking the latest dl from EIA, a new high price of $113.93 was reported in the last week for WTI. Midessa has the #1 spot as of May 3rd. There's no need to post another scorecard at this time. There was no change of standings of the top four players shown above.

Since I still have a hellish commute to work for about 5 1/2 more years, I'm glad I bought that Honda Insight. I hope it will last that much longer.

I split my off topic rambling to here.
The legitimate object of government, is to do for a community of people, whatever they need to have done, but can not do, at all, or can not, so well do, for themselves -- in their separate, and individual capacities.

Nope, didn't get it and nothing that says there's a new one pending...

TheDude took the #1 spot back after I entered a new closing price into the "What If" page of my workbook.

I used http://www.cx-portal.com/wti/oil_en.html as the reference.

I made it out of the thirties briefly. I think I'll do better this year than last, but still might not win it. The real run up in oil prices starts next year, when supply falls way below demand. $4 gas may be here to stay according to this morning's report on NPR. I don't think it will go any higher this year, but I see it's creeping up this morning.

Why isn't this thread a sticky like the other Oil Price Challenge threads?
