I would agree on the introvert thing - Hubby (he's an ENTJ) and I were just talking about that - as children I read books - he played team sport! He loves going out, I don't mind, but would much rather have a couple of close friends over for dinner (and lots of wine!)

INTJ here, and the INTJ description page describes me exactly.

Especially the part about planning for "contingency scenarios". I love to try to figure out what could go wrong in a situation and then figure out how to deal with it.

<<<<<---- ISTJ, but S/N are 55%/45%, so...

Interesting, but not surprising, that we're all introverts.

Shucks. I took the test again, under different circumstances, (just one day's difference) under more than usual stress, and the results changed.

INTJ
Introverted Intuitive Thinking Judging
Strength of the preferences %
78 38 38 22

Forgot my % for my INTP yesterday, but the T and P were somewhere around 5% and 1%

Do we need to do this for a few times for a sampling? Or does it indicate a transition from one behavior to another in one's life?
regards,

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('some_guy282', 'T')his question comes up often. The difference between us and them is that people who believe in Peak Oil are mostly NT's in the Myers Briggs personality type. NT stands for Intuative Thinking. Most of us are INTJs and INTP's. INTJ is Introverted Intuative Thinking Judging. INTP's are Introverted Intuative Thinking Perceiving. I'm an INTJ.

One of the things that characterizes INTJ's is the ability to examine evidence objectively. Of the total population, NT's comprise only about 3%. But about 70-80% of people who believe in Peak Oil are NT's. There was a really good site with descriptions of all of the types and a test to see which one you are, but the site is down now. Here's a link to see the description of INTJ, new website I found. But it doesn't have a test.

INTJ Profile

Can anyone else find a decent Myers Briggs test?

I am INTP. Yay.

There's a survey in the psychology forum that some of you should look up and respond to. I think what the survey found was that most people here are INTJ or INTP. I'm an INTJ according to the test but I've been INTP and INFJ INFP as well, depending on how I decide to interpret the question at the time I take the test.

I always question the foundations of the prediction of peak oil. A healthy amount of scepticism is absolutely necessary to keep the emotional response in check. People who are predicting the absolute and comprehensive destruction of the human race are merely responding to their unchecked emotional reaction, and giving in to negative attitude. I have been there and will probably be there again if you catch me on the right day! I usually refrain from posting on those days though, because I recognize that I have really nothing contructive to add to the discussion.

I think constant re-evaluation of the issues and facts is the only way to make sure that conclusions that you have drawn are accurate. The facts as they are presented seem irrefutable, but for the sake of healthy vibrant discussions the facts need to be dissected and analysed!
