Evolutionary forces are in the driver's seat, my doomish friend. Resource constraints, environmental pressures, rapidly advancing scitech and large, purposeful human populations indicate a continuation of a billion-years' worth of "forces and consequences".

Did I say somewhere that this billion years worth of forces and consequences are not going to continue? I don't know what you are trying to say here but I invite you to be more specific.

I recently summarized it beginning here. Then read the following posts through the next page. I was trying to be brief.

I'm too old to put up with all that pent up adolescent hostility to spend time trying to separate whatever valid points you might have from your anger.
Not too long ago I found myself occasionally locking horns but these days I just move on to something else. It looked though like you might have some valid points to make and you obviously put a lot of effort into what you wrote but sorry I wont provide you with any docking station for your rage.

I don't have any rage. I do this for fun and interest. If people treat me badly, I dish it back. If they treat me reasonably, I do the same.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Ibon', '')$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Ibon', '
')Take China, a powerhouse and perhaps the country most in need of embracing the truth of peak oil since no other country has the challenge of managing stability of 1.5 billion inhabitants. They are on the path and will overtake probably all other countries in embracing green technologies not for ideological reasons but to maintain stability going forward. Where does this embracing of green technology benefit the remaining biodiversity on the planet if it is embraced solely to maximize the stability of this huge human population?

I came across a fascinating podcast today about investing in China that addresses the trends going on there that elaborates on the above points I made earlier in this thread. For anyone interested in where China is headed this is something to listen to.

I tried to listen but the link is to a pad access site. Do they have hese podcasts stored on iTunes for schmcks like myself who are not willing to pay sbscription fees to listen to other folks opine on the given topic?

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('pstarr', 'S')ub, you dug up a five year old thread, the OP might as well be deceased.Yet you seem surprised a link doesn't function. What is your role in the greater scheme of things? Why are you still here?

Based on the evidence it has been decades since yu hav thunk a new thought so a five year old response should be just as fresh as one from today. If you paid even a minimal degree of attention you would see I responded to a post by Ibon who was still posting this morning seeking information he commented upon and linked to.

Yep. Based on his demeanor this morning PStarr seems to be on the rag. Of course, I won't be offending him by saying so because he's let us all know that I'm on his ignore filter ;)

Maybe Ibon you can summarize what that China podcast is about since the link does seem to be broken. But your general point is telling. Our species simply cannot come to grips with how overpopulated we are and its ongoing and future ramifications
