$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('mos6507', 'L')et's face it. The entire line of thought that says "republicans are just like democrats" only makes sense when you are on the ideological fringe (anarchists, ultra-liberals, ultra-libertarians, etc...) in such a way that neither party appeals to you. So you express that alienation by generalizing "they are all alike". WITHIN the scope of R and D, as most of the country are, things couldn't be more polarized.
Actually Mos, I would argue that they ARE alike functionally.
both fund and extend war - check
both push MASSIVE bailouts for banker criminal behavior - check
both push MASSIVE bailouts for failed businesses - check but only for large and donating buisnessess
both push authoritarian centralized statist solutions for esentially all problems - check
The last is where the only differences are - one wants to ban gay marriage, abortion, whatever... . But I see neither side wanting to respect voters (dem legislative override of anti gay marriage for instance) or personal rights (gop ramming through "patriot" act, retroactively approving torture, spying etc) btw did the dems repeal that patriot act? How about investigating the previous admins torture, illegal renditions, etc.. No? Didn't think so...
BOTH SIDES..... FAIL
