One split in the so-called "Tea Party" will be the Libertarians who have been pretty much thrown overboard versus the strict Dominionist Christians who want Taliban-like control over everyone's personal life.

The other split will be over what seems to be the intention of dismantling everything except the military and going with the Soviet Union model of spending the nations entire wealth on weapons while the civilian population lives in concrete closets and an oligarchy gets to turn the national parks into strip mines and private hunting grounds.

But do you think splits will cause them to not vote Republican? I suspect they will vote Republican no matter what. I see few "independents" who plan to vote Democratic, Green, or Socialist, etc. "Independents" tend to lean right. A lot. 8O

Ok, this political banter needs to stop before someone gets hurt.

George Carlin (R.I.P.) summed it up the best. (I can't figure out how to embed the video; click the link instead)

Ohio district 9 candidate likes to wear a Nazi SS uniform.

This is why I scoff at "liberal fascism," while this GOPer has his own SS uniform.

Nope---those things are definitely the fault of Obama and the democrats in Congress and their out-of-control spending and failed economic policies.

What do you expect after years of Repub tax cuts, 2 wars, Medicare part D and then screwing over middle America by siding with Corp america and letting them ship our manufacturing and IT jobs over seas. I really don't care anymore, let the Republicans have the house and Senate and in 2012 hand over the Keys to the White House to Sarah and Todd Palin. Im single and I dont have children. So if you want to get rid of the department of Ed and send your children off to fight in endless wars then go for it. Social Security...Im not even 40 and I hope I don't live past 70. As bad as things are now I hate to think 30 years down the road. Most people my age are not counting on getting any SS. Im hoping for something like what they had in Soylent Green. Let me choose the time and then you get to watch a nice video of how it was back in the day and just drift off. Seems like a good way to go. Better then being strapped to a bed in some nursing home with a backside full of bed sores.

Let us imagine a Venn diagram, with three circles. All the circles represent different groups of obscenely stupid people. One group thinks all our problems are because of Democrats, another group thinks Obama in a couple of weeks literally gave away the country to the "lazy n*****s" as reparations for slavery, and the third group believes that Barney Frank making loans to poor people is what caused the banks in Iceland and Ireland to collapse. There is in fact probably a lot of overlap between these groups.

I've been really mulling this coming election, without a doubt none of these clowns deserve my vote. Having said that I'm voting straight democrat this November , I'm just too afraid the republicans are going to throw the middle class and poor under the bus if they get a majority in this country.

I hear you. Crazy neo-nazis vs. ineffective lapdogs. I guess lapdogs win. Who wants an effective neo-nazi government? I can hear the glass breaking in my house already (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kristallnacht).

You're right, but as more time goes on I'm convinced it's a LOT less evil. Obama vetoed the republican bill that would have made it easier for lenders to foreclose without proper paperwork so that sealed the deal for me. Another case of republicans who think their friends should have different rules than us commoners.

Hahahahahahah! You don't even know how your own government works!

The democrats have huge majorities in both the House and the Senate. Its impossible for a "Republican bill" to be passed through this Congress. Republicans bills can't even be brought up for a vote in the House where every bill must be approved by Pelosi and the democrats before it is even put on the House agenda for a vote. Please educate yourself on how the government works.

One of the reasons we have such a dysfunctional government in the US is that so many Americans are too poorly educated or too lazy to make an effort to understand how laws are made and who is responsible for the deficits, laws and policies of our government. THis is a classic case---blaming republicans for a bill that democrats passed through the democrat-controlled Congress and then vowing to vote for democrats because you are wrongly blaming republicans for the democratic bill you don't like is just classic!!!! 8)
Never underestimate the ability of Joe Biden to f#@% things up---Barack Obama

Yes, but because of the arcane cloture rule in the Senate just one Republican can torpedo any legislation by threatening to filibuster. And of course corporate / rich owned Democrats collude with the Republicans on this, and THEY DON'T EVEN MAKE the Republicans actually stand there and blather on for 36 hours in a real filibuster.

The right to filibuster only works if it is checked by the limits to human endurance -- the Republicans should be made to actually stand there and talk until they pass out or lose their voice. The sheer pain in the ass of a REAL filibuster, not just the threat of one, is the only check on the power being abused.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'R')epublicans bills can't even be brought up for a vote in the House where every bill must be approved by Pelosi and the democrats before it is even put on the House agenda for a vote.

Well, the Man With The Tan is about to become Speaker so you'll soon get your wish.

Don't be so hard on someone who may not know every in and out of the Congress. Thing is, the more you learn about how our government works the more disappointed you end up. Probably better not to know in the first place and find a more satisfying use of one's time.
