Not sure what forum to post this on......
Back before the crash when I had a bit more money and built an in ground swimming pool. Now that time$ are tougher, [pool chemicals are oil related and expensive] as well as the elect to run the pumps. I've stopped maintenance of the pool [55 sq mtrs].
My first thought was to turn it into a home fish farm and stocked it with 60 talapia and a few koi. still ran the pump on recirculate to add oxygen and the fish thrived for 3 or 4 months then all died off in a week's time. Consult with fish farm experts tell me that the fish poop turns to nitrates and sucks the available oxygen.
So, now I'm trying to think of alternate uses for my 'cement hole in the ground' with brown water and only breeding tadpoles and the occasional snake.
Anyone have any ideas??
