By Kubler-Ross, I think he was referring to the five stages of grief (which can be applied to acceptance of PO, sort of)

Denial: “This can’t be happening to me.”
Anger: “Why is this happening? Who is to blame?”
Bargaining: “Make this not happen, and in return I will ____.”
Depression: “I’m too sad to do anything.”
Acceptance: “I’m at peace with what happened.”
What we think, we become.

First Welcome back and Congratulations!

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'S')he's pretty "with it." She's into many Green concepts, but one blind spot is she doesn't believe the world is overpopulated! (I will help her see the light on that one.)

Means she wants kids. :-D

The world not going to get overpopulated by having say just 2 kids. In fact that is below replacement values. Besides children on a farm are very valuable sources of labor.

Unless you live like a Bangladeshi, yes, it is. The world is already overpopulated by Americans.

Well, to settle this matter, my fiancee is 41. She already has one child (who is age 21) and doesn't want another. We've had discussions about the pros and cons and I'm in agreement with her. No kids. But: if she should get pregnant, we won't end the pregnancy if the fetus tests healthy. (She has an IUD, a type that carries a 1% risk of pregnancy.)

A few years down the line, we may adopt some unwanted 5- to 7-year-old.

I'm being honest here, but i thought you died :)

I've been on and off this site a lot ... I have two young kids and a busy life. Plus all the doom and gloom just gets old. Better to spend time with people you love, teach others, etc... enjoy what little time you have.

How are those Japanese Beetles? I know you have a horrible time with them...i think.

Hi, Master Frank! :)

Died, huh? Yes, that's always a distinct possibility, isn't it.

I agree the website and the doom do get "old" at times. The main reason I went away, though, was to focus my full energies on the task of finding an appropriate wife. It required vast energies, time, and even money, but . . . I dood it! I've found me a gem, and in just 8 weeks she'll be living with me here in Virginny.

It's beetle season and they're out there chewing away. I don't have much of a garden this year so it isn't a big annoyance this time around.

It's always great seeing your presence, Frank.
