$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Ludi', 'I') think a good attitude is to be ready for whatever might happen. If by some miracle we escape die-off by changing our behavior and reducing our population voluntarily (or by "escaping to the stars"), we can breathe a sigh of relief. And by "ready" I mainly mean spiritually/mentally ready, not necessarily physically ready to fight off zombies, etc. :)
Until we return to our 'source', we are doomed.
The ancient Egyptians lasted thousands of years bc they were connected to their 'source'. We are disconnected. :(

The only reason the Egyptians lasted so long is because they were not able to use up their resource base as fast as we can and because their Empire was small they could always expand by making colonies or sending people somewhere else as the Nile valley filled up.

Wow. I was thinking that we are just going to go back to what it was like before up from the ground came a bubbling crude.

We'll all be hunting varmints and huddling around fires. It will be something like the life a lot of people live around here now.

Jay Hanson is right, but who cares?
Deep in the mud and slime of things, even there, something sings.

The legitimate object of government, is to do for a community of people, whatever they need to have done, but can not do, at all, or can not, so well do, for themselves -- in their separate, and individual capacities.
-- Abraham Lincoln, Fragment on Government (July 1, 1854)
