$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('WildRose', 'I') just checked out the One Hit Wonder site. I remember almost all of those songs - a trip back to my adolescence.
Johnny & Edgar Winter - I sang in a band a long time ago, did backup vocals for a couple of their songs. Fun!
If you happened to see 'Vendetta', a prominently featured song in that film was 'I Cried A River" (1955) by Julie London.
Wow! I bet she captured a few1955 hearts with that one.
Julie London$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Wiki', 'J')ulie London (September 26, 1926 – October 18, 2000) was an American singer and actress. Best known for her smoky, sensual voice, as a singer she was at her peak in the 1950s; her acting career lasted more than 35 years, ending with the role of nurse Dixie McCall, RN, on the TV show Emergency! (1972–1979).
Born in Santa Rosa, California, as Gayle Peck, she was the daughter of Jack and Josephine Peck, who had a vaudeville song-and-dance team. When she was 14, they moved to Los Angeles. Shortly after that, she began appearing in movies. She graduated from the Hollywood Professional High School in 1944.
She was married to Jack Webb of Dragnet fame. Her obvious beauty and poise (she was a pinup girl prized by GIs during World War II)...
Do you guys use peer-to-peer software like Limewire or one of the other packages?
It's free software and safe as long as you use a firewall and don't download any executables - just stick to mp3 files and such. Watch the file lengths, too. If you see something that is only 380Kb in size, stay away from it. Most songs range from around 2500Kb to 7-8000Kb or so. I've never had any trouble and I've now got a whole library of music that I've downloaded.
If you've got a cable internet connection, it takes just a few minutes to grab a song. It's easy to get things like one-hit wonders but it's harder to get current jazz or something that isn't widely known. Or am I preaching to the choir?
