First read limits to growth. There are not enough resources for earth to support six and one half billion people living at American and western European standards.

Second please call me when they have a "working" reactor. The theory and physics look GREAT. Before I get too excited I want to see at the very least one just one working reactor creating steady regular electricity.

But I guess we're saved rah rah rah... please

When we start building these reactors they will take us into space. Plenty of resources in the asteroid belt. Enough to keep us busy for the next few thousand years at least.

BTW I have studied the physics and technology. The current experiments confirm what Dr. Bussard did in his previous experiments. In any case we will know in 70 to 120 days if it is worthwhile to go forward with designs for a full power reactor.

You can study this stuff yourself. I have it all laid out at:

I have noticed that it is quite common.

and poke holes if you are able. I would love to have my mistakes pointed out. Keeps me honest.

The floating "it can't possibly work" serves no useful purpose. Unless it makes you feel good to be secure in your faith. When in which case I sincerely hope your faith is not falsified. That can be so disturbing. It upsets the whole social order.

I know that "enough for every one" is not popular here. So I'm kinda odd man out. So be it.

Are results to date though meager consistent with previous experiments - yes or no?

I have studied the science and technology (I'm an aerospace engineer by trade - one step below rocket scientist) and have found no show stoppers in my professional judgment - yes or no?

Have I designed a test reactor that has been positively reviewed by physicists and engineers interested in the technology - yes or no?

Is the design open source so that any one interested, layman or expert can critique it - yes or no?

So please explain where the dreams come from. Is the statement you make based on personal understanding of the science and technology or just a feeling or something you heard from some one else who is intimately familiar with the science and technology?

I believe I can defend my position based on science and technology. Of course changing your feelings is beyond my capabilities.

I was really hoping to get some valid criticism - a design review if you will. So far only hand waving. And very low quality hand waving at that. Certainly there is some one who reads this blog who can do better. Well one can hope.

Not one hole except the big one that a fully functional working stable power generation system based on the theory does not exist.

Excuse me mate, I have a degree in engineering & have also spent the last 20 years (on and off) campaigning for the 'Green' movement in Europe.

I built my first prototype windmill when I was 23 & I currently live on a smalholding in France on which I grow (most of) my own food and produce (most of) my own power.

I have a good knowledge of nuclear physics & follow the subject with a great deal of interest.

If... you would actually listen to what people on this forum are saying, you might learn something. Rather than just wanking off over the latest tokamak/Buzzard, convex/concave field-containment (or whatever) brochure.

I am no questioning your ability - just your presence & attitude here. I case you haven't noticed, this is a discussion board about something called 'Peak Oil'.

Now. If you need a primer on Peak Oil, there are plenty of people here who can fill you in on the facts. Or read some of the links on the front page.

But, if I can put in a nutshell, Peak Oil basically means this:

YOU ARE GOING TO DIE YOU STUPID BASTARD, PROBABLY OF STARVATION, MAYBE IN A WAR, OR MAYBE GLOBAL WARMING MIGHT HAVE SOME INTERESETING TWIST UP ITS SLEEVE THAT NONE OF US KNOW ABOUT YET.

Well if I phrased it as "a vision" instead of "a dream" would it make a difference?

Or is it just an engineering project to get some funding to finance your lifestyle? If so it's even worse than a dream at least a dream has hope.
