$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'Y')ou need to read more carefully, I didn't say they bought beer and lottery tickets with their food stamp card. Its something they do at the same time with their food purchases, on my dime by the way.

You do know that people lend their food stamp card to others for cash don't you? If you don't you are a fool.

No, they can't do this, like I said they can't even buy ass-wipe or dog/ cat food with a EBT card. It's like a credit card with restrictions.

No laundry soap, soap or toothpaste either.

You are a moron. They buy food with the EBT. At the same time with cash they buy beer and lottery tickets. Does that explain it enough or must I draw you a cartoon to match your intelligence?

Cog, you need to draw him the cartoon -- but don't expect it to do any good.
Given the track record of the perma-doomer blogs, I wouldn't bet a fast crash doomer's money on their predictions.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Pops', 'I')magine todays paramilitary cops let alone regular army opening up on suburban moms with strollers?

That has already happened. Look up the 2007 May Day Rally in MacArthur Park. Police fired rubber bullets on women, children, babies in strollers, the elderly, etc, without provocation, who were having a peaceful parade rally. There were beatings and tear gas after some in the crowd tried to fight back by throwing plastic water bottles at the police.

WikiP sees it differently. Some people just beg for the nightstick.

I've seen footage of what happened. This is a bit more accurate: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Los_An ... AAl%C3%A9e, and this is what I saw: http://www.randomlengthsnews.com/archiv ... may18.html

I guess the reporters who got beaten and shot deserved the nightstick too?

The police should have just arrested the dozen or so people who were involved in blocking the road, and not fired on civilians at all.

From your wiki cite...."The police made numerous requestest for the protesters to move from the street and abide by the conditions of the permit. The protesters remained defiant and began gathering in larger numbers on the street. When the attempts by police to move the crowd failed, police commanders declared the gathering an unlawful assembly."

Go to Mexico and pull this kind of $hit and watch what happens.

Rahmbo famously said the democrats should "never let a crisis go to waste" when they used the great recession as an excuse to pass Obamacare.

Now, as if the great recession isn't crisis enough, the democrats are actually trying to create another crisis over the debt ceiling. They've voted down two separate republican bills that would've raised the debt ceiling, but have offered nothing to replace them with.

Harry Reid is promising that the Senate will eventually vote on a democrat bill to raise the debt ceiling, but for now he is keeping his bill secret. Looks like the democrats want to gin up the panic and hysteria as long as possible.

Harry Reid just pulled his bill and is refusing to allow the Senate to vote on the democrat plan tonight as scheduled.

Thank for doing nothing, democrats....

There is NO SOLUTION to this mess ... not by Democrats ... not by Republicans ... Do you have a solution? No, you don't ... because THERE IS NO SOLUTION to the highly and completely dysfunctional US Federal Govt ... It is beyond repair ... If you don't realize it now, you soon will ...

Here's something I don't get about libertarian rugged individuals. If they are so rugged, why do they care what the government does. They should be able to survive anything. If they don't like the taxes imposed on them, or government programs to help the poor (redistribution of wealth :?: ) , why not go to some other country. Or do they believe that the American government owes them something too?
It seems to me that the libertarians are the ultimate collectivists of the most dangerous kind. At least all other collectivist groups have their self interest in mind, so they all try to form a government of their own in order to get the most for their own group. For every such group there will always be an opposing group that will somehow keep the society in balance. But libertarians have decided to band together and form a very ideological kind of a government, the one that forcefully denies everyone everything. They talk about the virtues of austerity.
The government in Germany tried that in the early 30s. I don't think anybody has forgotten how the people responded.

It took the republicans 5 years after they took over Congress in 1992 to whittle down Clinton's spending and balance the budget in 1997. It was a long nasty fight.

The republican's effort to whittle down Obama's spending has only been going on for six months. Its too early to give up already. 8)
