Well I know the 2004 (Saudi Arabia), claim is a blatant lie. Or, maybe you are confusing it with the attack on the Jedawal compound. (I used to live there)

This whole thing is to get people riled about some external threat, so they can take their minds off the fact that food prices are going up.

That's why most of the muslim world's leaders are secretly happy about this. I think the new Egyptian leader even called for a massive rally. It has to be the Jews or the Americans everyone is pissed off at. That way they don't start thinking about the real problems.

Yes, it matters little who is in charge except that somehow they maintain export priority with regard to oil resources.

Well the US Embassy is in Riyadh not Jeddah, I know I used to go there. So I am not sure what this was about. What you wrote was:

which is a LOT different than your latest version.

However, the description is what happened to the Jedawal compound in Riyadh. But that compound was used primarily by contractors on the Peace Shield program. Fortunately, my contract ended a few months prior to the bombing. Some friends of mine sent pictures of the damage to my villa. Had I been there, I would have probably been killed. My Den had an outside window that blew in and stuck in the opposite wall. I would have been in that room with my back to the window while sitting at my computer desk. Sometimes timing is everything. :-D

You defend even the speech you hate because it's the same right that allows you to speak. This is who WE are as a civilization. OUR values matter too.

Interesting, given the other embassy assaults, this one seems to be about oil reserves and stoked nationalism:

The US and other Western countries that export food to some of those s**tholes should form a FPEC (Food Producing and Exporting Cartel), come up with production quotas, and embargo the countries that act up too much.

lol, another funny guy that knows nothing about oil geopolitical history ! :)

(such as the fact that the US --PUSHED FOR-- the first oil price increase, that the "Arab embargo" was a total joke, and that OPEC has never been a "cartel" anyway (doesn't make sense for non renewable raw material ressources producer, besides not holding the market at all, if there has been a cartel in oil production history it was the "seven sisters" period))

Historically never has a religious group/people been so victimised and hated since Nazi Germany.

They described the assault as sudden and well-coordinated.

Don't know about pot meeting kettle, but despite being pagan not Christian, even I can see that Jesus didn't have sex with 9 year olds (Aisha, the eventual 1st Caliph Abu Bakr's daughter) or execute unarmed prisoners of war like Mohammed did. The Muslims were slaughtering people for Allah from nearly the start, compared to the Christians who were thrown to the lions by the Romans for the pacifist refusal to serve in the Army.

If you want to judge a religious movement, look at its earliest practitioners, before the religion "evolves" (gets corrupted) into something completely different or possibly even its polar opposite (as in teachings of Jesus vs the "prosperity doctrine" of some American "Christians")

If a person today invented a time machine and traveled back to kill Mohammed, it would be a better outcome than if he traveled back in time and killed Hitler or Pol Pot.

What about compared to Christopher Columbus?

I watched the film and its bloody woeful. That said the protests are way over the top and often driven by every bit as much religious chauvinism as the film. Political Islamists are using this as a way of whipping up support.

So if there is no God then we lose our human rights?

And why was God not dishing out these rights before Americans gave them to themselves by force of arms from King George III?

Seems to me our rights come from us and our willingness to defend them.
