OPEC, IEA or EIA Completely Wrong in 2020 Oil Market Analysis

Consumption

Somebody big has got their analysis of the 2020 oil market flat wrong.

That’s the bottom line from a comparison of supply-and-demand forecasts provided by OPEC, the International Energy Agency in Paris, and the U.S. Energy Information Administration. The Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries agreed in December to deepen output curbs until the end of March.

OPEC’s own research team sees that pact continuing to drain global stockpiles throughout 2020. By contrast, the IEA and EIA see inventory levels rising — even if the deal gets implemented in full. And even if were to be extended for the entirety of 2020.

The OPEC+ group agreed in December to lower their combined output target by a further 500,000 barrels a day, plus a voluntary additional reduction of 400,000 barrels a day from Saudi Arabia, which depends on everybody else meeting their targets.

OPEC’s latest forecast shows global oil inventories falling at an average rate of almost 100,000 barrels a day over the course of this year assuming the December deal is implemented as agreed and runs through March. That rate of draining could hit 300,000 a day if the measure were to last throughout 2020. Even if the group fails to implement the deal in full, with output remaining at its December level, OPEC’s numbers show there would still be a small decline in global inventories this year.

The IEA and the EIA both have very different, and less-bullish, outlooks. Both see stockpiles continuing to build, even if the agreed output cuts were to be implemented fully and extended for the whole year.

The same differences are apparent in the views of the three agencies on the effectiveness of the OPEC+ output cuts since they were introduced at the start of 2017.

OPEC’s supply-demand balances show that global oil stockpiles have fallen by 653 million barrels since the output cuts were introduced at the start of 2017, with draws in both 2017 and 2019 offsetting a small build in 2018.

Once again, though, data from the IEA and the EIA both imply that the output restrictions have done no more than limit the size of global stock builds since the start of 2017. After initial draws in 2017, stockpiles were replenished the following year and then remained essentially flat in 2019. The net result, according to the EIA, is an increase in global oil inventories of 100 million barrels between the start of 2017 and the end of 2019, while the IEA data show them rising by 142 million barrels.

So where is all this oil? Well, each agency will have slightly different things that it counts, different methods for counting and then, of course, their assessments can differ.

Divergences aside, OPEC and its allies remain resolved to press on with output cuts aimed at draining excess stockpiles, Saudi Arabia Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman said in a Jan. 13 interview on Bloomberg television.

“Our endeavor in OPEC+ is to try to bring inventories to a certain level, where it is within the contours” of recent years, he said. That range should be around the average of the last five years and the period from 2010 to 2014, he said. That suggests that the group doesn’t have a precise target.

OPEC’s latest monthly report pegs OECD commercial oil stocks at 2.92 billion barrels at the end of November, a little higher than the 2.91 billion reported by the IEA. That puts inventories at between 8.9 million barrels (IEA) and 17.5 million (OPEC) above the average level for the last five years.

But there is one thing on which the IEA and OPEC do agree.

OECD commercial stockpiles are sufficient to cover 60.6 days of forward demand, 0.6 days below their latest five-year average. This is a much more useful measure of stockpiles than simple volume. And it would suggest that there’s agreement that OPEC has got inventory levels back to at least one of its measures of success. Now all it has to do is keep them there over the next two years as the high inventory levels of 2015 and 2016 drop out of the rolling five-year average.

“Sweden Has ‘Lost Control’ After Bombings Spike 60% In 2019, Says MP”

I’m a big “fan” of a European CW (CW2?!) and “humanitarian superpower” Sweden is one of the most likely places for it to begin, the other ones are France and large English cities. The sooner its begins, the more can be rescued of European civilization.

But empire dave is deluding himself if he hopes it will take place before CW2 in the US. Like in chemistry, a chemical reaction is a function of the proportions of the reactants. And the demographic in the US is far more to the white disadvantage than it is in Europe. In the US whites are already a minority (45%) in the age bracket 0-20, where in worst country France it is still “only” 2-1. Russia, Eastern Europe, Italy, Spain, Finland, Scotland, Eastern Germany, are still as good as 100% white. The worst are in declining order: France, Sweden, England, Belgium, Holland, Germany.

The good news for the US is that it is so big, that it is fairly easy to redistribute “diversity” over several countries.

Again, Europe from the Atlantic to the Ural mountains deep into Russia is 10 million km2 (PBM excl. Euro-Siberia; Vladivostok is very European), like the US is. Europe has ca. 30 countries, the US only 1. Expect that the US will fall apart into 5-7 countries by 2030 in order to release natural racial tensions.

More nonsense from the cloggo. This time around there will be no rescue like post WWII euro civil war. This time it will be generalized collapse around systemness overshoot globally with no refuges. The reboot will be far lower than the cloggo can get his head around

“But empire dave is deluding himself if he hopes it will take place before CW2 in the US.”

It will take place together everywhere cloggo. I don’t practice world event competition like you do. If I reference so many anti-euro articles it is to moderate and neuter your extreme Anglo derangement.

“Like in chemistry, a chemical reaction is a function of the proportions of the reactants. And the demographic in the US is far more to the white disadvantage than it is in Europe. LOL, the logo wants to legitimatize his racism with chemistry. Cloggo first the US can handle diversity much better than euros. Your 45% is a deception too because you consider Hispanics non-white. You are not including Asians either I am sure. People of color and of alternative cultures like extreme Muslims are a factor. There is also the fact that many Muslims, Jews, and Christians don’t practice and tend towards mainstream not racial identities. Europe is not orientated to cultural assimilation like the US is. Euros believe the assimilation is towards established national identity. In the US assimilation is a process change for the national identity itself. Big difference there cloggo.

“ Russia, Eastern Europe, Italy, Spain, Finland, Scotland, Eastern Germany, are still as good as 100% white. The worst are in declining order: France, Sweden, England, Belgium, Holland, Germany.”

LOL, the cloggo includes Russia but Russia is not a good one to include. We can see his list of worst is the majority in Europe. The cloggo is in denial of race and culture realities. He thinks populism is sweeping the continent. He also dismisses demographic decline of natives and demographic growth of non-natives. He thinks there will be another holocaust to solve that problem. A nice holocaust you know with ethnic cleansing that doesn’t murder like his Natzi forefathers did.

“The good news for the US is that it is so big, that it is fairly easy to redistribute “diversity” over several countries.”

    That’s better cloggo

“Again, Europe from the Atlantic to the Ural mountains deep into Russia is 10 million km2 (PBM excl. Euro-Siberia; Vladivostok is very European), like the US is. “How Donald Trump wins”

    https://edition.cnn.com/2020/01/20/politics/donald-trump-victory-2020/index.html

Buried in the new CNN national poll is a single data point that may well be the key to how someone as unpopular as President Donald Trump can win a second term in November.

And it’s this: 55% of Americans approve of the job Trump is doing on the economy, while 40% disapprove. That +15 gap is by far the best Trump performs on a series of questions on how he is handling various aspects of the country. In fact, it is one of only two measures where more Americans approve than disapprove of the job he is doing. (Trump has a +3 margin on his handling of terrorism.)
And his +15 on the economy far outstrips his overall job approval rating — 43% approve, 53% disapprove — in the new CNN data. (Trump’s worst showings are on health care and immigration, where he is -15 and -14, respectively).
It doesn’t take a political savant to see the path for Trump to a second term: the economy, the economy, the economy. The history of modern presidential elections suggests that the economy is always at the center of how voters make up their minds — and that when people feel as though things are going well (in their personal economics and in the country) they tend to want to stay the course.

Note, I didn’t say that but Donnie’s sworn enemy CNN.lol

    Take that, mobby fool.

And as the Dems witch Pelosi correctly stated with Billy-boy Maher: the country can survive one Donnie term, but not two.

Until he doesn’t I assume he meant BMI-index or crime rate, since he can’t have meant Olympic Golden medals, trains, planes, cars, IT-hardware, scientific inventions, beautiful cities, trade surpluses, having 15/20 of the most livable cities in the world, having the most beautiful art, classical music, etc., etc.

WORLD NEWSPutin Rewrites WWII History and Pushes Stalinist Propaganda
A diplomatic row has emerged between Russia and Poland, after scandalous comments by Russian President Vladimir Putin emerged, in which he claimed that the invasion of Poland on the 17th of September 1939 was “necessary because the Polish government lost control of the country” and bizarrely claimed that the Soviet invasion “saved many lives”. He further went on to accuse Poles of “negotiating with Hitler” and complained that the Poles have been dismantling Red Army memorials. These comments are part of an increasingly worrying trend in Russian politics, which seeks to minimise and whitewash the crimes of the USSR, in particular their post war occupation of Central and Eastern Europe and their implementation of puppet governments which kept the region under the yolk of communism for almost half a century. Stefan Tompson, a British-Polish filmmaker has recorded a short response video, debunking the Russian claims and setting the record straight. In his reaction video, he highlights the role of the Ribbentrop-Molotov pact, and the secret protocol within it which led to the mutual invasion of Poland by Nazi Germany and Soviet Russia, and their attempts at destroying and eradicating the Polish elites, culture and nation. He points out the numerous crimes of the Soviet Union on the Polish people: over a million Poles were deported to gulags, half a million Poles were imprisoned in Soviet jails and tens of thousands were shot, including 22 thousand top Polish officers who were systematically shot in the Katyn Massacre, a crime the Russians denied responsibility for till recently. He critiques communism, reminding his viewers that “communism is a totalitarian ideology that sacrifices every aspect of life at the altar of its oppressive ideology.” He ends the video by extending a hand to the Russian people,a people who have been the greatest victims of communism, with 20-30 million Russians killed by totalitarian communists. Tompson points to hope, by quoting the Russian dissident, philosopher and Nobel Prize winning writer, Alexander Solhzenitsyn, who survived a soviet gulag and penned “Archipelago Gulag”: the Russian thinker understood the importance of truth and its role in vanquishing totalitarianism, and he phrased it simply: “One word of truth shall outweigh the whole world.”

GOP Must Stand Firm Against Dems Reckless ‘Impeachment’ Sham
There is nothing more obvious than a person trying to make sense of a bad argument. That’s what’s been happening with Democrats as they struggle to make sense of the most ‘ridiculous’ impeachment in U.S. history and continually search for crimes against President Donald Trump that don’t exist. In fact, all one needs to do is watch the Democratic lawmakers as they struggled month, after month trying to find any reason to impeach Trump. The Democrats made their struggle public and failed to deliver any provable crime to support their assertion that Trump should be impeached. What they have done is stretch the truth, protect the non-whistleblower and now are attempting to re-try Trump in the Senate with more witnesses, which they alone did not attempt to question during the House impeachment trial. It’s been a Democratic run circus since Trump took office in November, 2016. All one needs to do is watch interviews of Democrats on election night after their lives were turned upside down when they realized America voted for Trump and not candidate Hillary Clinton. Of course, the anger didn’t end there but instead, got worse. Democrats, along with deep state supporters, have done everything in their power to remove a duly elected president. That’s exactly what’s happening now. Trump has denied unequivocally every claim Democrats have lobbed against him during the impeachment trial in the House. There is no evidence – not even one iota of evidence that Trump has done anything impeachable. The Democrats claimed through their non- whistleblower that Trump’s phone call with the Ukrainian president was riddled with threats, extortion and compared Trump, through a disinformation campaign, to the likes of a mafia boss. Guess what, like all the previous Democratic claims, it fell flat on its face. The transcript of the phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on July 25, 2019 was nothing what the Democrats claimed it to be and America could see it for themselves. Why? Because Trump released the summary of the transcript. BOOM! There was nothing. From the transcripts it was obvious there was no threat, no attempt to extort money, no quid pro quo. There was no attempt to withhold $400 million in military assistance to Ukraine in exchange for an investigation into former Vice President Joe Biden’s son. Still, it isn’t enough so the Democrats, well mainly led by House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff, found a group of disgruntled former Obama officials still working in the State Department and National Security Counsel and used them in a hearing. Except, the Democrats excluded the non-whistleblower who wrote the original report on Trump’s phone call and stated there was a ‘quid pro quo.’ Mind you, none of the witnesses in the House hearing that testified on behalf of the Democrats had any direct knowledge or evidence that Trump did anything wrong. There was nothing there but hurt feelings. Many of these State Department and NSC officials are angry at Trump, who isn’t playing ball with them like past presidents did. He’s questioning their every move and is holding them accountable. The Washington D.C. swamp doesn’t like this one bit and is fighting back with everything they have. What Americans have also seen is an attempt by Democrats to use anti-Trump witnesses to manufacture a false narrative against Trump both in the impeachment hearing and in the media.

UPDATE – First Schumer Rules Amendment Defeated – House Managers Attempt To Rectify Inherent Impeachment Flaws…
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer is attempting to rescue two legally and structurally deficient articles of impeachment rushed from the Lawfare community in the House of representatives. However, in his first effort to introduce new documents and force the Trump administration to hand over new executive branch information, related to President Trump foreign policy decisions and delayed foreign aid to Ukraine, the Schumer amendment was defeated. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell moved to table the amendment, dismissing the request, and won a floor vote as all republican senators stayed united 53-47. It is anticipated that Schumer will next move for another amendment making the same request for new State Department documents the House committees did not seek. The primary reason Chuck Schumer has to make this ridiculous effort for more evidence, is how the House never established their ability to enforce subpoenas via “Judicial Enforcement Authority”. The failure of a full House vote to authorize the House Judiciary Committee to pursue evidence -via enforceable subpoenas- was a defect by design of Nancy Pelosi’s decision to initiate an impeachment inquiry by her decree, not an authorizing vote. CTH noted this structural issue last August, and the issue remained throughout the heavily manipulated proceedings. None of the House requests for testimony or documents held any enforcement authority because the House did not follow the constitutional process. The House was not issuing subpoenas, it was issuing letters requesting voluntary witness participation and document production. Recently the DOJ Office of Legal Counsel explained this issue in a lengthy legal finding that leads to the same conclusion. “Lawful subpoenas”, literally require an enforcement mechanism; that’s the “poena” part of the word. The enforcement mechanism is a judicial penalty, and that penalty can only be created if the full House voted to authorize an impeachment inquiry, and charged the House Judiciary Committee with the authority therein. Absent the vote to authorize, the Legislative Branch never established compulsion authority (aka judicial enforcement authority), as they attempted to work through their quasi-constitutional “impeachment inquiry” process. Instead of subpoenas, Adam Schiff (House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence); and Chairman Eliot L. Engel (House Committee on Foreign Affairs) were only sending out request letters. The compliance was discretionary based on the outlook of the recipient. Nancy Pelosi did not have the vote or political capital to start by initiating a full House impeachment authorization. Pelosi, Schiff, Engel and Cummings had to rely on the duplicity of the media to help them hide their scheme; and the media complied. Speaker Pelosi & Lawfare’s impeachment scheme could only succeed with a compliant media protecting it. The media was entirely compliant in not explaining the fraudulent basis for the construct. If the media would have ever asked questions the fraud would have collapsed. Adam Schiff had to hide his hearings because the foundation of the impeachment fraud was to create a public impression. There was no structural impeachment process or guideline being followed. The committee leadership used the closed door hearings to leak information to the media to create a needed narrative.
