Will Nothing Get Us Off Oil?
The US represents barely 5% of the world’s population yet we consume 25% of the world’s energy. Contained within our boarders is about 2% of the world’s known oil reserves. The math simply isn’t sustainable. We are getting our addiction fed from wherever we can get the oil. Much of the Amazon Basin, the lungs of the world, has been decimated by Chevron’s and Occidental’s rapacious oil drilling practices. Nigeria is an ecological disaster thanks to the immoral drilling and business practices of Shell Oil. All over the world, ecosystems are being irreparably damaged because we refuse to extricate ourselves from fossil fuels. And now we are feeling the pain and helplessness that so many other countries have experienced as foreign companies invade our sovereignty and destroy our environment for their own financial gain.

The sooner we move to bio fuels the better. We need to support alternative energy from wind, solar, geothermal and biofuels. We need to provide for our Energy Security by reducing our need for oil. The security and environmental costs are too high. We must stop sending our dollars to the middle east to support regimes that want to destroy us.

Well its about time America got a taste of it own medicine. Greed eventually will catch up with people countries and cultures that are based on it. It just about your turn now America

Algae is one solution to help get the US off of foreign oil. A potential $1.4 trillion dollar market palce for oil and co-products. Commercial algae plants are being scaled-up throughout the US today. It will create new jobs right here in the US. Exxon, other big oil companies and Bill Gates have invested hundreds of millions of dollars to bring this to reality.
