While I admire Europe for what it is doing and attempting, the 100% transition policies are not economically or physically sound. The fact is your “primary energy” “wind and solar” renewables is still very low in relation to all the talk. If a bad recession come these polices will grind to a halt. Sadly you’re right about the suicide epidemic. The US is undergoing a rapidly escalating epidemic of suicides primarily due to the war on drugs. Honest and good Americans who suffer from chronic pain and terminal disease are losing their access to pain medication due to a minority of people abusing them. Sadly, I know of a lady with MS and a man suffering chronic pain due to an industrial accident who were no longer able to obtain prescriptions for their suffering so they committed suicide. An elderly Black man whom I have known for many years as he worked as a building janitor called me in tears. He was suffering from Stage IV Lung cancer and he was in terrible pain. Incredibly, his oncologist refused to treat his condition out of a fear the drugs would be misdirected. Thankfully, I got him to a compassionate doctor who treated his pain appropriately, which I allowed him to die with peace and dignity.

This should concern all of us as we may find ourselves in a similar position some day, God forbid, and I don’t wish that upon any person.
