For the latest evidence that society is hurtling into an immovable wall at top speed, we turn once again to the fertilizer market and connect a few dots for our readers. Monumental news broke at the end of September, and yet almost no mainstream outlet is covering it. We expect that to change shortly. For now, we turn to Progressive Farmer for a summary:

When the supply of critical goods goes short, countries implement protectionist policies in a futile attempt to minimize the impact at home. A cascading series of retaliatory moves usually follows, leading to economic vapor lock. We are seeing that pattern play out now in agriculture.
To keep the chemistry lesson as simple as possible, you need natural gas to produce ammonia and energy from fossil fuels to mine for phosphate. You need ammonia and phosphate to make fertilizer. You need fertilizer to grow food at scale. You need food to keep the peace.
As you might expect, the price of fertilizer – already under pressure from gyrations in the natural gas sector globally – skyrocketed higher on the news that China is halting all phosphate exports. Farmers will either raise prices dramatically or go broke. Inevitably, we’ll see an unhealthy mix of both.

If China defeats the US in East-Asia (which I think will happen), that event could very well trigger a wave of secessions in the US, leaving Australia undefended and up for grabs by China.
But once THAT is reality, Russia is the junior neighbor of a Chinese super-power, owning a valuable but empty and difficult to defend Siberia, on the Chinese doorstep.
Ironically, today, Russia is fairly well protected in the current geopolitical state of affairs, with a new Cold War developing between the US and China, where the Europeans + Russians can lean back a little. But once China wins that war, at least locally in East-Asia, things won’t be so comfortable for Russia anymore.
It is this background upon which my entire geopolitical views are founded: the inevitability of a future EU-Russia alliance/merger, necessary to contain China in Eurasia, where the US will fail to contain China in East-Asia.
I’m convinced that the above is going to happen (minus the secessions in North-America, of which I am only 60-40 sure), leading to this outcome for the remainder of the 21st century… who is right? That leaves Japan, that has been nuked by the US twice and will refuse to allow the US to fly sorties against Chinese targets. The Chinese have long ago passed the message it will respect Japan’s souvereignty, provided it behaves neutral and Japan will comply.
That leaves only the Philippines as a potential battle arena, with both Chinese and US forces landing there and battling it out, like in Norway-1940. China will win because of close proximity.
And then what? Cold War 2.0? Anglos installing a blockade in the Gulf and Strait of Malacca? Perhaps. China has subs though. And importantly, Russia will keep supplying China with essential fuel. And if Europe has issues, they will be cut off from oil and gas. Expect Europe to remain largely neutral. After all, they never recognized Taiwan, why should they?

P.S. there is a wild card, nobody likes to talk about: the strong possibility of Korean unification on North-Korean (read: Chinese) terms. If China finally will move against Taiwan AND the US responds in full force, notably with the occupation of the northern Philippines (where our reckless and fearless reporter makati lives, to keep us informed about Chinese treatment of American POWs) and installing a full naval blockade of the SCS, then expect North-Korea to move against the South as a proxy force of China, with strong military support from Beijing, as well as its own strong nuclear threat. The capital is only 30 km from the border with the North. When Seoul falls, so will South-Korea and potent industries (Samsung!) will fall into the hands of the communist Asians. This will enable Korea to do the same as China: the entire country adopting a capitalist system with an authoritarian (“communist”) rule. Fits these collectivist Asian human robots perfectly. The Chinese victory over western liberalism in East-Asia could be and likely will be cemented by playing the Asian race card, further pushing the (jewish) dream of One World into the haze, never to return.
You read about the Korean angle of WW3 here first, which could be decisive in the defeat of the US in East-Asia. Non-nuclear Japan can be rammed into neutrality by the Chinese exploding a nuclear device, 40 miles SW of Nagasaki, above the sea, clearly visible from the city, doing no damage, but pushing the Japanese population into panic mode and forcing the Japanese government to block the Americans from flying sorties against Chinese targets from its soil.
It should be understood that capturing Taiwan is a minor objective for Beijing. The real goal is reaching supremacy in Asia and expelling America completely from East-Asia.
