Smashing the Fortress

This week, we take a look at the tens of thousands of migrants tapped in limbo in Europe, facing down the prospect of being deported back to the war zones they’ve just escaped.

If you love what we do, consider supporting us!

For the musical break, we’ve got The Haymarket Squares, with Let’s Start a Riot.

We wrap things up with a look at the highly charged level of racial tensions in the United Snakes, and an interview with Paul, an organizer with All Out Atlanta, who helped coordinate a convergence of anti-racists to shut down the Klan at the battle of Stone Mountain.

The claim that immigrants are being deported back to war zone isn’t true.

Turkey is not a war zone.

Copy paste and post this notice to the people. There is a new social activist movement, called “SHUT IT DOWN”. Wherein we the people, shut the system down by, staying home from work, not spending any money we can SHUT IT DOWN. The economy as is, is teetering on the brink, with zero to no growth and it would not take much to SHUT IT DOWN. We the people can do this with out any demonstrating or window breaking, we all just stay home and SHUT IT DOWN. The PTB cannot send out riot troops, they cannot teargas us, the PTB will be defenseless when we stay home spending no money and SHUT IT DOWN. Join now and SHUT IT DOWN!

“Turkey is not a war zone.”

Just parts of it are, all along the Southern border where it is most definitely a war zone. For a full list of actions, check out the link. Here’s a short list:

All the people stating that Turkey is not a war zone need to rewatch the video and listen out for the part where he says that refugees are being sent to Turkey he then follows by saying and often they are sent back to the countries they have fled. It’s totally laughable as in it’s disgusting propaganda by Turkish shills and fail to even try to be objective in showing both sides of the Turkish-Kurdish issue. They fail to mention how Turkey is bombing Kurdish areas outside Turkey suppressing Kurdish linked political parties freedom to express themselves. Also they fail to mention the history at the root of the long lasting issue concerning Kurdish-Turkish relations. Context is everything

I also fear that the oppression of Kurdish autonomous areas where people from all backgrounds be they different nationality, religion, sex and even sexuality where they are creating free areas for free people who want a fairer place to live under decentralised more direct participatory democracy. The Rojava revolution as an idea in it’s birthing stages is a beacon of hope in a part of the world where separation and division is strongly expressed and reinforced by powerful governments and ethnic groups. The long and short of what I’m saying is powers from all over the world will want to smash it and oppress it so it does not spread their ideals and the evidence that a fairer system can be created. The one thing that all controlling nations whether they control by force or by the manufacturing of the public’s consent, hate anything that threatens the way they think is the right way to run a society/country and could end up doing what the capitalist west and soviet union did in the case of the Spanish anarchist revolution which was to put their differences aside until they crushed the system that was spreading as an idea for fairness and freedom around the world because it was a threat to top down oppressive power systems.

This small booklet is very informative on the subject of the creation of a more free, decentralised directly democratic system in it’s birthing process and working very well given the history of the region.

    @ dave thompson,

You’ve always been a voice of reason, IMHO, but you’re starting to lose it man!

“All the people stating that Turkey is not a war zone need to rewatch the video….”

There’s only one person stating that Turkey is not a war zone Shock. That would be planter, and she is normally completely out to lunch.

  8. Davy on Tue, 3rd May 2016 6:03 am

Turkey has been a low level war zone for years in the south with the Kurdish problem. What is new with that? It is now a higher level war zone and Syrian rebel logistic zone including ISIS. It is now a war related smuggling zone for anyone with booty to trade. It is definitely active and the activity is increasing.

  9. Davy on Tue, 3rd May 2016 6:34 am

The best you can do is talk about these things. People are locked into the mechanization of modern life. There is nowhere to go and nothing that can be done. No movement will achieve a break out and a break out to what? Death? This will not end well either way. It will end less bad if we have a crisis sooner than later. It will end less bad if we have preparations, plans, structures, and education in place on what to do once food and fuel are in shortage.

Currently I know of nothing that is more than some dusty pamphlet some obscure federal employee has on some book shelf on dealing with these profoundly dangerous situations. Words will not save us basic structures for action will. Just imagine fuel shortages and how that will bring our modern life to a halt. Think about food shortages and how that will have the same results but in different ways. Hirsch had a good book “The Definitive Guide to the Coming Energy Crisis. One chapter had an excellent discussion on fuel shortage strategies. We need food shortage strategies as well.

The key to our survival is transition. Not the renewable transition which is important on one level. This transition is a global society wide transition into destructive change. This is a process occurring now but the forces are working to counter it not adapting and mitigating it. We need to be spending our energy and efforts on adapting and mitigating to this not fighting it with the same that got us here.

The main way to do this is create the basic structures at multiple level to deal with this forced transition of crisis. This will overwhelm society if we are not careful. Yes, I am doing the same thing you are doing on one level and that is wishing but I know I am wishing. What I am trying to tell people is this is an option. Do any of you have other options? The PTB have options and that is all in on the status quo. In a way this is fine until we are able to have an option but it is time dependent and time is winding down.

Entering the collapse process will be a very dangerous period of decay and decline with random economic abandonment, dysfunctional systems, and irrational policies. Services people rely on will not be there. Problems will surface from unmet needs. We may have the beginning of pandemics. Social order may break down. A NUK plant may get caught up in this chaos. My point is our only option other than all in with the status quo is crisis management. Crisis now should be our rallying cry. We are not in full blown crisis so we can prepare, adapt, and plan for when we cascades into destructive change.

This education, planning, and organizing does not have to be overwhelming the status quo. It can be done and still run the status quo. It will create confidence problems that is clear. If you start talking about collapse people’s attitudes and disposition change. The transitions talked about now are only extenders. Green people and techies talk about complex futures. Status quo cornucopians talk about fixes related to our global growth engine. They all say to us “if only you would do this we would be OK”. There is no OK and there is no future of the status quo.

A crisis of destructive change is in process now and is proceeding at a linear rate. When it goes non-linear is when we will lose control and see wild change none of us are prepared for. It is completely unclear where, when, and how this will hit. The how much and how long is likewise unclear. We have precious little time to practice the basics of risk management. If nothing else I always preach personal preparation.

Greg T thanks for the reality check, I say SHUT IT DOWN, in a sarcastic tone.

  11. dave thompson on Tue, 3rd May 2016 8:07 am

To be blunt, what we need is for someone to shut this motherfucker down and to let the chips fall where they may no matter what that might mean, as long as it opens up some small possibility of a future in which the Earth can heal and the survivors, human and non, can establish themselves anew. This is the dark, adult truth as best as I can surmise it, and it is no less terrifying for me than for anyone else.https://collapseofindustrialcivilization.com/2016/05/02/checkmate/

  12. GregT on Tue, 3rd May 2016 10:45 am

Absolutely agree Dave T, and exactly what I have been saying here for quite some time now. With every passing day that we continue to pursue BAU the consequences become more dire. We have had plenty of warnings spanning at least 4 decades now. We haven’t listened, and we still aren’t listening. Sadly, we aren’t going to change our collective ways until the energy runs out, or until we hit rock bottom, whichever comes first. Judging from the amount of fossil fuel reserves left, it appears highly likely that we are going to choose the latter. Rock bottom.

Good article BTW. The last three words ring especially true for me. “And we wait.”

When looking at the “refugees” here in Denmark recently the following was discovered: 2% af of “refugees” came from Syria. The 98% were immigrants claiming to be from war-torn syria, but were actually from everywhere else.

Also: How the hell can they travel to Denmark when they are supposed to seek asylum in the first safe country?

They passed through at least a handful safe countries on the way here.

And as said above: Turkey is not a war zone, neither is Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia, Albania, Croatia, Hungary, Slovakia, Czech republic, Poland.

And yet this list of countries receive almost no immigrants.

Why? Because they dont have good welfare systems.

This has nothing to do with refugees and everything to do with welfare “tourism”.

  14. peakyeast on Tue, 3rd May 2016 6:11 pm

No Turkey is not a war zone. Not more than USA is a war zone by attacking everybody it pleases. Or France being hit by terrorists regularly.

A War zone is much more dramatic than that.

Take a look at pictures from Syria – if you are in doubt what it looks like.

Peaky, a “war zone” does not have to be a bombed-out wreck. Turkey is on the verge of a civil war or revolution, it seems, and conditions are not good there for some sectors of society. If you were in a dangerous position and had the resources to leave, wouldn’t you?

The exodus from the Us is already underway and growing daily. The number of Americans who give up their Us citizenship is doubling and tripling every year. Multiples more are moving to countries where they have dual citizenship. And more are moving because they have found a friendly country that they can reside in without fear or repression and a lot more freedom than in the American Police State. I am one of the latter. Best decision I have made in a long time.

As things get worse and worse in America, those numbers will become a flood unless the gestapo government slams the door shut. It already has it’s hands on the knob. Restrictions and penalties have begun on moving money out of the country. Soon it will become impossible. For Americans, money is god. If they were not smart enough to get it out BEFORE the door slams, they will be too late. Trapped, as their god evaporates into nothing.

Sorry, rambling on, but you see what I am talking about. I hope.

Makati Bill, I have a math problem for you. What percentage is 4,300 expatriates to the US population of 318MIL?

“The number of published expatriates for the quarter was 1,058, bringing the total number of published expatriates in 2015 to 4,279.”

It looks like both Iraq & Turkey are on the verge of collapse… That’s 6.1 Million BOPD produced or transported…

Look for the Armenia – Azerbaijan conflict to intensify any minute now… The whole region is highly destabilized…

We have PRODUCT pipelines going down here in the US, which can only mean that our refineries have nothing to process. I advised you guys/girls 2 weeks ago that the Port of Houston was only taking in 1/4 of what it should be & once that worked into the system we would know it… Prices should skyrocket, but they probably won’t because Obama OWNs the CME…

Regarding the migrants in Europe, it will not be much longer we give them uniforms / guns & send them back to the Middle East to fight WWIII…
