Paris Terror Attack: ISIS Celebrate “Paris In Flames”

Paris Terror Attack: ISIS Celebrate “Paris In Flames” thumbnail

ISIS adherents celebrated the horrific terror attacks across Paris late Friday creating hashtags declaring “Paris in flames” well before the devastating scope of the worst attacks to hit Paris since World War II was clear to the world.

Vocativ deep web analysts discovered ISIS extremists praising the sophisticated and well-coordinated attacks within minutes of the initial explosions and gunfire that police say killed about 140 people. At least six attacks occurred across the city with as many as 100 people believed to have been killed inside a popular concert hall after being taken hostage, authorities said.

“O crusaders we are coming to you with bombs and rifles,” a top propagandist from an unofficial ISIS media wing tweeted in Arabic, Vocativ discovered. The jihadist ended the tweet ominously: “Wait for us.”

“The infidels were happy in the liberating of Sinjar at the morning, and at night they slap themselves for Paris,” declared another tweet discovered by Vocativ deep web analysts.

French President Francois Hollande declared a state of emergency and closed the country’s borders as the fear spread across a city still healing from the Charlie Hebdo attacks in January. Authorities said the attackers inside the concern hall had tossed explosives at the hostages. At least two attackers were killed in the hall when security officials stormed the building.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the brutal violence which began about 4 p.m. ET. But ISIS adherents quickly encouraged the terror organization to take official responsibility. “Allah Akbar, the horror arrived to the forts of the Cross #Paris. ISIS should claim responsibility for the operation to show the world that Muslims have heavy feet,” one tweet said.

Translation: After the French crimes in Mali, and the bombing of Syria and Iraq, now comes the killing. In your homes there will be war. 18 dead and 60 hostages. #Paris #ISIS

Translation: The west used to live quietly and set fire in the Muslim lands with war, but after the emergence of the caliphate [ISIS] the game has changed. #Franceisonfire #Paris

How much are the Russians really achieving with ISIS? It is my understanding much of the early air campaign was against those Syrian rebels nearer to Damascus, Allepo, and Homs. These areas were not ISIS dominated. They are attacking some ISIS positions but this part of the fight was not ISIS dedicated.

The Russians have other motives in conjunction with the government allied Syrian forces that are moving on territory not degradation of ISIS assets. I want to also add there is limited damage from the air that can be done to ISIS once they go undercover in civilian areas that is unless the Russians want to practice ethnic cleansing. These ISIS areas are largly Sunni.

The Russians have change the landscape and in alliance with the Syrian government coalition they will be formidable. The Russians are not going to win anything from the air. The Americans have proved that over 50 years of various conflicts. You are not going to win the hearts and minds of Sunni areas with Shia troops of Iran and Hezbollah.

The Russians have succeeded in saving Assad for now and degrading the opposition. The rest of the hype is hype.

    paulo,

Freedom is just that. You have to have thick skin to handle it. Maturity and the transition to accept all people in a global world will still take a few more generations. Since WWII we have seen what can happen and acceptance is on the rise. In America for example is becoming more diverse by the day and even though there are problems we live as an example of human achievement. Every generation is more tolerant than the last.

“How much are the Russians really achieving with ISIS?”

According to Russian news, http://ru.redtram.com/, the Russian, and Iranian offensives have completely removed ISIS from northern Damascus. One of their strongholds. Of course this is Russian news, but the photos of what Russian air power has done supports their claim that 412 ISIS fighters were killed in a recent battle. Considering that the Russians are reporting Russian losses, and the Western media is not reporting anything it would indicate that there is probably some truth to their reports.

Considering that ISIS has been acting more like a pack of Huns than a modern army, it would be no surprise that they are no match for the Iranian, and Russian forces. But, there can be no doubt from the photos that are available that ISIS is under considerable pressure. As long as the Iranian ground forces stay involved the Russians will probably continue to make headway, and it doesn’t look like they intend to be leaving anytime soon.

  7. Davy on Sat, 14th Nov 2015 12:35 pm

Yea, Short, just like the Americans made headway in Iraq then left and very quickly the extremists reappeared. The Russians will likely never win this without ethnic cleansing and leveling most cities to rubble. Syria is pretty much rubble now so to be fair they don’t have much more they need to do. The Russians are in up to their armpits in involvement that is going to cost them dearly. IMA with an economy in recession and commodities tanking. That is not a great combination for a long drawn out campaign.

Boat, I get the concept. I suppose my point is that I find myself visiting this site less and less these days, and certainly commenting less. I would mention some other excellent sites but worry people like IDknow would gravitate there. Ron Patterson wouldn’t put up with this crap, why does PO.com? I am also disappointed with so many fine people sniping at each other these past few months. It is fine to dislike a POV and someone’s personality, but if we lose manners and a respectful discourse the site is doomed and on the way out. Maybe, that is a fitting situation considering the topics. 🙂

I wonder how many times Plant, nony, any myself have received the same kind of offensive charm from the doomers. Why? A different narrative? Couldn’t you and the gang have just simply disagreed without ganging up because you disagreed. I still see no global collaspe in the next 10 years. I see no problems with oil depletion within the next ten years. I see some signs of climate change and take 50 years down the road seriously but see nothing now and for 10 years that will change the economics that will cause a crash. So take the plank out of your own eye so you can see to take out the speck of sawdust in your brothers. From the bible LOL.

The US was trying to overthrow a government, the Russians are trying to preserve one. A very popular one with the Syrian people. Different agenda, most likely, different outcome.

PO News puts up with it for the same reason that I don’t run a blog. Not putting up with it is having to act like a police man. It is saying that you have a right to censor other peoples ideas if they don’t follow your idea of what that idea should be; and that is a pain in the ass.

And still we struggle to keep our grip on the last easy oil in shia iraq. We fight to keep Israel alive and fossil fuels pumping. The consequences of decisions made by PNAC and the Bush family as well as Obama and Cameron as well as Merkel brow beating Europe about immigration and greedy German banks buying off Greek politicians will show us the results of mixing people’s and cultures that spend 1000 years trying to stay separate.
    We are living in hubris.

“Sorry short, who’s government Assad and friends or the many others who have been disenfranchised and beaten down by a family dictatorship spanning decades. Nope, don’t buy it.”

You talk like there should be some kind of democracy in the Middle East. There has never been a democracy in the Middle East; not for 3000 years. It has been a tribal culture that has always sanctified warfare, and the arrival of Mohammed did nothing to change that tradition. For that reason they have always embraced strongmen who could restrain the tribes propensity to kill each other. Assad is just such a strongman, and one of the most just (by Western standards) in the Middle East. Your empathy for Syrians is noble, but diffidently misplaced. Westernizing Syria would result in a blood bath greater than the one now occurring. They would kill each other off until it was reduced to Cain and Able.

  17. Davy on Sat, 14th Nov 2015 3:32 pm

Short let’s end this little game with agree to disagree. I can see you are set in your ways and I am just as hard headed in mine. In this partucuilar situation one can argue all day long on history, government, and ethics. This is not a physics discussion we are talking human nature in all its irrationalities. Neither one of us are experts on that.

  18. onlooker on Sat, 14th Nov 2015 4:18 pm

Yes the Middle East is a chaotic quagmire made so in no small part by being bounded by artificial boundaries by the Imperial nations that has made no sense. On top of that having all that oil has attracted unwanted attention. It also as Short stated an unparalleled history of warfare and religious fanaticism. So it is an extreme example of social structures inflaming human passions and vice-versa. Assad or no Assad would not have made an iota of difference. Finally, I echo Paulo’s plea, that we try an maintain a certain level of respect and manners so that we can continue discussing these difficult issues which are both interesting and timely.

If you invite your worst enemy into your house – do you expect him to behave nicely?

The sad part in this story is that the EU “leadership” was not hit, but just ordinary young people that has absolutely no impact on policies.

Please ISIS – target those morons in power instead of random youth wasting their time and money at idiotic entertainments.

  20. bug on Sat, 14th Nov 2015 5:17 pm

Peaky, I agree, but what seems to happen is that it gets the citizens and the “morons” worked up into a fever pitch. Then troops are sent and presto , we are at it again for eternity. Just killing those original morons means more ape morons fill the void.

Also true, bug, but at least it would be responsible apes.

And the exchange of ape morons in power is the only hope there is.

Not that I actually believe there is any real hope for our current civilization.

In my judgement the best hope we have is to start shooting biological capsules in all directions of the universe – though I am not sure I really would want that to happen.

Compare France’s La Pen, a militant Fascist,
    to our own Republicans.

“PARIS, Nov 14 (Reuters) – France must “annihilate” Islamist radicals and regain control of its borders, the far-right National Front party leader Marine Le Pen said on Saturday after deadly attacks in the French capital.

“Urgent action is needed,” Le Pen told reporters the day after 127 people were killed in assaults on cafes, a concert hall and a soccer stadium.

“Islamist fundamentalism must be annihilated, France must ban Islamist organizations, close radical mosques and expel foreigners who preach hatred in our country as well as illegal migrants who have nothing to do here,” she said.

Islamic State claimed responsibility on Saturday for a coordinated assault by gunmen and bombers at locations across Paris, which President Francois Hollande said amounted to an act of war against France.

Polls have been suggesting that Le Pen, known for her strong speeches against immigration, is likely to win regional elections in northern France in December. Surveys also see her making it to the second round of the presidential election in 2017, although not winning the run-off.

Europe is facing a chaotic flow of migrants, many of them from predominantly muslim countries, seeking peace and prosperity in Europe. Close to a million people have entered the bloc over the past few months, threatening Europe’s unity as its leaders argue about how to handle the crisis.

“It is absolutely necessary that France regains control of its borders,” she said. (Reporting by Sybille de La Hamaide; Editing by Andrew Callus)

Let’s all put our bats down and have a big group hug. We are all on here because we are savvy enough to realise that these atrocities are not about freedom or democracy. Left or Right leaning there will always be a difference.

At least we know what is really going on.

  27. makati1 on Sat, 14th Nov 2015 8:46 pm

Peaky, your last comment is right on.

As I see it, the responders on this blog are perfect examples of the world today. That it is getting more and more ugly is also a mirror of the world as it progresses towards total war and human extinction. Intolerance and stress is rife everywhere as the vice tightens and living gets more and more difficult.

We all have reasons for our position, based on our experiences and education and we are scattered all over the world, so how could we all agree on anything? It gets uncivil when the school yard name calling begins, not when we have differences of opinion.

Best to just skip over those we totally disagree with as I am doing with a few here. I also ignore my family members who refuse to even consider my point of view. I don’t kiss butt for anyone. Did enough of that before I dumped it all for true freedom.

I doubt many here have known true freedom. It is likely only available to the old as we no longer have to please people to keep our jobs or to find a mate. We know that life has an end and it is fast approaching. The young refuse to acknowledge death as their constant companion. Every day is a gift to be enjoyed. Sunny and 88F today. Going out soon to enjoy it. Cheers!

The “War on Terror” is a self perpetuating war. The more innocents that the west brutally murders in the Middle East, the more “terrorists” will crawl out of the rubble.

  30. Boat on Sun, 15th Nov 2015 12:11 am

    GregT,

Maybe maybe not. Japan is a friend, Germany is a friend, Italy a friend, Vietnam, Mexico, Canada and the list goes on of countries the US warred against. I am sure other countries have lists like this.
Don’t get so excited about current events. In the grand scheme of things these conflicts are small skirmishes compared to the great wars.

  31. makati1 on Sun, 15th Nov 2015 1:10 am

Boat, how did you come to that conclusion? It took ~50 years, and the death of those who experienced the wars, for those countries to begin to ‘forget’.

I would say that those countries are temporary economic ‘friends’ not military allies in the sense that they want another war on their territory caused by the US.

I think the next 5-10 years will see the US isolated from most of the world, if there isn’t another world war before then. Countries are seeing behind the US MSM Iron Curtain and they don’t like what they see. You can thank instant i-junk videos and pictures by those involved, on the internet, while it is happening. Interconnectivity makes it hard to spin events to the rest of the world today. Americans may be fooled, but not many others.

We are a;ready in a great war that is killing hundreds of thousands and destroying millions of families and the wealth of nations. That the bombs have not hit you … yet … does not mean they are not coming. Ask Europe if they expected this refuge stampede a few months ago. The US is next as the refugees will pour into America soon. Wait and see.

BTW: When did we go to war against Canada? Was I asleep in history class that day? I do remember that we stole a large part of Mexico a long time ago, but Canada?

  32. onlooker on Sun, 15th Nov 2015 2:31 am

Exactly Greg. But that is why I submit that the War on Terror is but a smokescreen so that US and its allies can have a permanent and decisive influence in the Middle East. Why? Mainly the OIL.

  33. GregT on Sun, 15th Nov 2015 2:36 am

    Boat,

Nothing in your response has anything at all to do with what I said. The more people that the west kills in the middle east, the more terrorism will be spawned. This shouldn’t be all that difficult to understand.

  34. GregT on Sun, 15th Nov 2015 3:00 am

    Absolutely onlooker,

Not only the oil, but the ‘New Great Game’ and ‘The Project for a New American Century’. Unfortunately for all of us mere peons, their plans don’t include us.

  35. onlooker on Sun, 15th Nov 2015 3:46 am

Absolutely Greg, the violence just spawns desire for retribution and would be terrorists. How would any one of us feel if our wife or children were
killed in some random drone attack or something similar. Of course Ghandi is right “An eye for an eye and pretty soon the world is blind” All those
who think they are fighting on the side of right raise your hand. I see everyone is raising their hand, understand now. At some point one must
say violence is not acceptable for any reason whatsoever. You can kill me but you cannot make me betray myself and my principles, which are my
keys to a better life after this one.

  36. dooma on Sun, 15th Nov 2015 4:27 am

Marine Le Pen may talk tough but has she really considered the ramifications of trying to take on an adversary who thinks that dying for their religion is the ultimate ticket to paradise?

Remember the carnage that the Kamikaze bombers of WW11 inflicted on allied fleets with just aeroplanes? It took two atom bombs to finally make them stop.

Unfortunately, this situation is far more dire and not as cut and dried as fighting Japan. Islam has integrated itself around the world. Many of the killers have spent little/if any time in the countries of their parent’s origin.

We simply cannot take the usual approach of warfare and apply it to this situation. It will just escalate attacks. It is far too late for conventional war.

  37. Davy on Sun, 15th Nov 2015 6:17 am

Greg, what about Russia, Iran, and Hezbollah? They are doing some killing so are they included or exempted from your comment “more innocents that the west brutally murders in the Middle East, the more “terrorists” will crawl out of the rubble.”? I know the answer.

  38. Davy on Sun, 15th Nov 2015 6:20 am

Mak said “I think the next 5-10 years will see the US isolated from most of the world” Oh, sure Mak, how is that going to happen? You have the typical agenda colored glasses on that exclude reality of what is going on and what is possible. That statment shows a lack of intelligence.

  39. Boat on Sun, 15th Nov 2015 7:28 am

    Mak,

What is funny is the Philippines people have a 92% favorable view of the US in 2014. The US and Great Briton were at war in 1812. Canada was a colony then.

In addition, less than a quarter of Russians (23%) have a positive view of America, whose image is down 28 points in just the last year, a casualty of Washington’s opposition to Moscow’s intervention in Ukraine.

But there are still corners of the world where America is held in high regard. In European countries surveyed, half or more of the publics in seven of nine nations say they see the U.S. in a positive light. Top of the list are Italians (78%), French (75%) and Poles (73%). Only in Germany, where U.S. favorability is down 13 points since 2009, has the positive image of the United States slipped significantly. And, despite this slippage, roughly half of Germans (51%) still see America favorably.

Asians are also pro-American. In fact, the Filipinos are the biggest fans of the U.S.; 92% express a positive view. South Koreans (82%), Bangladeshis (76%) and Vietnamese (76%) also agree. Even half the Chinese give Uncle Sam a thumbs up.

..or as the saying goes: ‘The beatings will continue until morale improves’. 🙂

Secondly, the perpetual War on Terror is nothing but an excuse to steal more freedoms and liberties from it’s own citizens or as some would call it, Tyranny. You gotta make excuses to employ the M.I.C. and all those alphabet soup Dept’s the US Govt has created such as the NSA/FISA/CIA/FBI/TSA etc.

And this is not just a Western phenomenon, Govt’s all over the world from West to East are pulling the same shit. Some do it with a “we’re looking out for you” and others do it covertly.

Turkey, Jordan, Egypt, Lebanon are next in line for chaos.

By blowing up a Russian airliner, killing young Parisians, IS plotters are more interested in hitting hard at France’s or Egypt’s economy then revenge on Russians or French.
    Watch carefully for underlying
motives for so called ‘terrorist’ actions.
These men are far more sophisticated then any ‘lone wolf’ psychotic bomber.

Example: How much did it cost al Qaeda to
    put together 9/11 ?
WE still can’t measure those repercussions.

The goal is control of the world’s oil supply.

Saudi Arabia proved they could half the price by increasing production during a lull in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars.

Low oil prices had the desired effect of bringing Venezuela to the brink of collapse.
Were it not for China ‘lending’ money and Russia technical assistance the second largest (potential) oil producer would end like Libya.

The Saudis concocted this scenario that would give KSA unlimited power to spread their version of Islam worldwide.

KSA in short, carried away by their own hubris.

All monoteistic religions have deep in them a wish for a one world government lead by them selves. That goes for christians and muslims as well – and the jews have all ways been accused of such aspirations.
I see monoteism as the great divider all over the world.
Monoteistic belivers can per definition not have any solidarity with nature or otherwise thinking people, because they themselves are per definition the property and slaves of a “space creature” that can’t be contacted or negotiated with.
Even the agenda of these “Space creatures” are mostly hidden and their decisions are beyond criticism.
The root of the problem is that “the faithfulls” believe that the god writes books where human behavior are defined for ever.
Read this little funny bit about the commandments of the old testaments god :
