Navy Officer Tells Alaskans: Prepare For War

Navy Officer Tells Alaskans: Prepare For War thumbnail
An unnamed former Navy official has warned the residents of Alaska to prepare for an invasion in the event of war between the U.S. and Russia.

The Daily Star has reported that a former high-ranking Naval official has evidence to suggest Russia is preparing to invade Alaska if war breaks out between the United States and Russia.

“We are the verge of being invaded from Alaska all the way down into Canada and eventually the Northwest,” he said.

The invasion, according to the Naval official, will begin via submarine incursion near the city of Wasilla, approximately 43 miles northeast of Anchorage.

Wasilla is located along the coast of the Knik Arm, a body of water that branches into the Cook Inlet, which flows west into the Gulf of Alaska.

“Our feeling in the Navy was that Obama had turned Alaska into a defenseless area that will serve as a forward base of operations when World War III begins,” the unnamed official suggested.

Russians disguised as “highway road crews” are allegedly already in Alaska preparing to serve in an asymmetrical role during a full-scale invasion. The crews are set to “disrupt communications and seize vital bridges” when war begins.

Another anonymous source claimed Russians in “civilian clothing” have been seen moving into abandoned motels and military bases.

To describe the Alaskan coast around Wasilla as “undefended” is not entirely accurate, however; Joint Base Elmendorf–Richardson, site of Alaska Command, NORAD Alaska, the 4th Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), 25th Infantry Division and the 11th Air Force, is located in Anchorage.

Clear Air Force Station, which houses a radar station designed to detect ICBMs and submarine-launched ballistic missiles, and Eareckson Air Station, which houses the Cobra-Dane radar system, are also located in Alaska.

As tensions with the United States continue to rise over competing interests in Syria and threatening language from American military officials, Russia has begun taking steps to build up its military capabilities in the sparsely populated Far East region of the country to counter American military forces in Alaska.

Russia recently announced plans to position a new coastal defense military division along its eastern coast by 2018, with some troops expected to be stationed approximately 50 miles from Alaska.

Deployment of the Iskander M, a mobile missile system capable of targeting aircraft and launching nuclear-armed missiles at targets up to 300 miles away, would drastically limit America’s ability to deploy F-22 Raptors from Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in response to long range patrols by nuclear capable Tu-160 Blackjack and Tu-95 Bear bombers recently ordered by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

They’ll never get past Oregun. We’ve got them out-gunned. Seriously, all the media-generated hype about threats of war with Russia, China, North Korea — pure distraction. You know it is getting really bad when they go to such absurd lengths to frighten us with rumors of war.

LOKK OUT, THERES A RED COMMIE ROOOOSKIE BEHIND THAT BUSH!!!!

That makes sense, begin ww3 by trying to take out the furthest away land state, then drive from there through the thickest part of America without any oil supplies of your own to get to where exactly?
Yeah, the smartest political leader (tactically) so far of the 21stC is going to do that. Hmmmmm
But hey if it plays well in the sticks and justifies more budget for guns, then why not.

Oh really, and who would that be dumbass? This kind of talk is hysteria of Numnuts with little understanding of military capabilities. It is easy for a dumbass to reference another dumbass who may or may not be military and say these things. While it may be possible for Russia to tactically invade Alaska for strategic reasons of an offensive defense this would likely only be if full scale war breaks out with the likely exchange of NUKS. You will not have Russia invading Alaska in a scenario of no NUKS. Think about that because any invasion of sovereign territory of ether power will precipitate NUK war. It is possible the US may invade Russia for similar reasons. It all depends on who gets the best of the other in a NUK exchange. Now back to reality and let’s hope the “high ranking military on both sides remember MAD and the systematic interconnectedness of globalism.

World War III: a 1982 movie starring the much underrated David Soul. Much more enlightening then this waste of space. LOL. From IMDB:

“Soviet paratroopers drop into Alaska to sabotage the oil pipeline in retaliation against a United States grain embargo. A skirmish occurs at a pumping station, lightly defended by Col. Jake Caffey and a National Guard recon unit. A stalemate ensues while the possibility of World War III hangs in the balance. The danger escalates as the Soviet Secretary-General and the American President play a cat-and-mouse game.”

John Wayne and the Air Cav do not come to the rescue and it is not a happy ending. Unlike Ice Station Zebra. LOL.

Putin has already made it very clear that he has no intentions of an Alaskan invasion. He says that Russia already has enough cold territories. That could all change rather quickly, however, if/when Climate Change goes exponential. Alaska has a glut of King Salmon that the Ruskies are interested in for strictly strategic purposes.

I have been to Russia recently. The people I met are full-blooded capitalists. I did not meet one real communist over there.

“The people I met are full-blooded capitalists. I did not meet one real communist over there.”

Sure Peaky. Next you’ll be telling everyone that The Russian Federation is a democracy, and that the US has embraced socialism.

  11. peakyeast on Sat, 22nd Oct 2016 12:17 pm

Nope… I am talking about the PEOPLE – not the government. And their opinion is definitely different that their government, but they dont say that publicly for GOOD reasons.

Anyway.. You can believe what you want – I have no stake in it.

I thought that my sarcasm was fairly obvious. Sorry, I guess not.

  13. peakyeast on Sat, 22nd Oct 2016 12:30 pm

Sorry I am not good at detecting sarcasm I suppose – rocky also tried that on me and I failed miserably. Perhaps its from seeing so many types of people in blogs – one never knows what type is at the other end.

Of course Russia is not a democracy since I dont know any real examples of that. Looks to me to be something out of a fairytale book from Aristoteles.

The USA is definitely a socialist state – for the wall street crowd and the too big to be decent companies.

  14. rockman on Sat, 22nd Oct 2016 12:55 pm

That’s OK peaky. I read many posts where I think they are kidding and then discover they are really serious. Like that etpthingy.

Now was that sarcasm? Sometimes I’m not even sure.

Fighting jihadis does not require F35’s. Fighting jihadis is cheap and dirty. Not much money for corporate elites in that fight. USA needs an enemy that will get the F35 sales going so your tax dollars can be transferred to the wealthy elites.

  19. rockman on Sat, 22nd Oct 2016 2:20 pm

“USA needs an enemy that will get the F35 sales going”. But the KSA et al are doing their part to make the US #1 in global weapon sales at $150+ BILLION…about twice the sales of #2 Russia. Think of the $billions the KSA will have to pay US companies in order to restock after their current adventure in Yemen.

  20. Anonymous on Sat, 22nd Oct 2016 2:40 pm

What ‘jihadis’ are those? The ones the uSraelis train, arm, equip and provide 24/7 media coverage for? Those jihadis? Or maybe just the people that just want the uSa to go the fuck away and stop trashing their countries all to hell? Yea, those are ‘militants and jihadis’ too I suppose…

In turn they get a little of the crumbs like beheading some waylaid foreigners. You think the Industrial Military establishment is worth anything without energy to power itself. yeah worth about as much as the useless paper currencies.

Davy if anyone knows about running around in circles it’s americans. Very fucking expensive circles with nothing to show for it. The military budget combined with the security state budget is over two trillion a year. How’s that working for y’all?

Tomgram: Engelhardt, A Record of Unparalleled Failure

    Don’t Walk Away from War
    It’s Not the American Way

“So here are five straightforward lessons — none acceptable in what passes for discussion and debate in this country — that could be drawn from that last half century of every kind of American warfare:

    1. No matter how you define American-style war or its goals, it doesn’t work. Ever.

    2. No matter how you pose the problems of our world, it doesn’t solve them. Never.

    3. No matter how often you cite the use of military force to “stabilize” or “protect” or “liberate” countries or regions, it is a destabilizing force.

    4. No matter how regularly you praise the American way of war and its “warriors,” the U.S. military is incapable of winning its wars.

    5. No matter how often American presidents claim that the U.S. military is “the finest fighting force in history,” the evidence is in: it isn’t.”

    http://www.tomdispatch.com/post/175854/tomgram%3A_engelhardt,_a_record_of_unparalleled_failure/

Maybe y’all should declare war on your furniture. That way you might actually save some American lives.

Don’t underestimate the fire power of Russia.
Their war weapons might be so advance and so powerful than the US and the whole United Nations and allies combined. AS you see, they the Russians, are preparing for this. They are positioning their units everywhere in the globe…air, sea and land. America should and must prepare all the times to squarely face Russia and its allies. Yes, Alaska must be provided of all advance equipment to counter Russia.
America should and must station more advance ICBM, nuclear-subs, bombers and air-crafts and battle ships to allies neighboring Russia. The flame of WW III has started already. Look everywhere around the globe, there is killing and destruction of war. America just prepare for the nuclear war.

  34. Rick Sanders on Sat, 22nd Oct 2016 5:40 pm

Russian President V. Putin is not going to invade the United States. Putin knows that if he were to invade the US , he would be doomed. While the Russians have improved their military forces over the last few years, they are smart enough to realize the United States has a far more advanced weapons and better trained military forces. It is one thing for the Russians to invade Crimea. It is quite another thing to invade Alaska and start World War III.

  35. Pepe Hernandez on Sat, 22nd Oct 2016 5:44 pm

Took a trip to Alaska using my camper in 2010 and in Chicken we bumped into a group of 5 Russians, really nice guys, only one spoke English. I joked to my wife, “these are probably FSB or NRU intelligence officers checking the terrain”, maybe it was not a joke after all!

  36. Noah Hunter on Sat, 22nd Oct 2016 5:44 pm

Of course this could be reversed. US forces could be prepared to invade Russia. I suspect that at the ‘War College’ this plan has been gamed out. I also suspect at the Russian Warski College they’ve war gamed an invasion of the US via Alaska. That’s what the military does… they plan ahead just in case.

  37. Glen on Sat, 22nd Oct 2016 5:49 pm

Stupid people: really attack Alaska? you are kidding right. We would come down so hard on them MRFS THEY WOULD THINK hell had opened up. Me and a bunch of my buddies would be on the first plane out, to go deal with them, on our ground. Make no mistake, we are going to defend the USA!!!!

  38. Jeffery on Sat, 22nd Oct 2016 5:51 pm

You people re not being realistic. You should be prepared just in case. Russia is flex it’s muscle showing that they are ready. They are already started telling their people to get ready for WAR…..Better WAKE UP

  39. Matt Pack on Sat, 22nd Oct 2016 5:51 pm

  40. Led Robster on Sat, 22nd Oct 2016 5:53 pm

This “article” is complete BS. The US and Russia have a combined total of over 15,000 nuclear warheads… enough to render the entire planet uninhabitable several times over. Even if Russia simply detonated 1/3 of their nuclear stockpile in a place like Siberia, without launching a thing, the massive amounts of radioactive fallout and nuclear winter that would ensue would wreck this planet for everyone, including the Russians themselves. There will be no winner in a WWIII. Anyone who thinks otherwise is a complete fool.

They wouldn’t dare. Hillary has said she would use nuclear weapons against both Iran and Russia, Kind of make you warm and fuzzy.

  45. Dale on Sat, 22nd Oct 2016 6:07 pm

Russia has already asked, that we give them back Alaska. Like Ukraine and Crimea, he is preparing to just come in and take it from the US. Putin, is a greedy man. There is a lot of oil and gas to be had in Alaska. Putin, will do this knowing, the US doesn’t want to start WWIII. As far as Russia, continues to build up its military and the US continues to tare theirs down. Don’t be fooled, the US is not the superpower that it once was.

  46. John Buonocore on Sat, 22nd Oct 2016 6:08 pm

  49. Jamees Bond on Sat, 22nd Oct 2016 6:26 pm

As someone that has lived in the Wasilla area for over 20 years this makes no sense. The waters of cook inlet have some of the most extreme tides in the world. Small to medium sized cargo vessels can not dock in the summer at times due to the tides and shallow waters. The upper end of the inlet near Wasilla and Anchorage gets completely iced up in the winters. The idea of submarines attempting to land in these shallow and dangerous waters is a joke. And even if they did manage to get into these shallow waters it would only take 2-3 minutes of flight time for military jet to respond from Anchorage. And once they landed, where would they go? To Sara Palins house? There is only one road north and one road east and they are both just two lane roadways. The pipe line is approx. 100 miles east of Wasilla so again, why Wasilla? Due to all of the wetlands, swamp, rivers and mountains an army could NOT progress cross country up here. And again, where would they go? How would they supply themselves and what is the strategic advantage of owning this part of Alaska. Somebody needs to do a little more research before they put out these types of articles.

  50. Rick Miller on Sat, 22nd Oct 2016 6:27 pm

I would wonder why this Former Naval Official is staying unknown. Is he the only one that thinks this? Anyone else see any Russians walking around? Has anyone told Sarah Palin?
