– The US dominated the 20th century because of oil, superior to coal and steam, because now they could power planes and cars and trucks with it.
– Europe has a good chance to rise to prominence again in the 21st century, because we are the only ones with a coherent, generally accepted renewable energy strategy that addresses depletion of conventional fossil fuel sources as well as climate change. Winning formula. Saudi-Arabia, Egypt, etc., can become major exporters of hydrogen to Eurasia, produced in the desert with endless arrays of solar panels. They’ll be fine.

I don’t really care about Brexit anymore.

If it succeeds I will be at the mercy of a kosher run multicultural government unrestrained by the European court.

If it fails, I will still be at the mercy of the same kosher government, with the added issue of free movement allowing unlimited immigration from the EU. And a European court that is too weak to protect me from the scumbag British political snakepit.

Either way, my people look screwed. I am partly hoping for a major economic crash that will weaken the UK government to the point where it will no longer be able to oppress it’s people.

A strongly nationalist EU with strong border controls with the rest of the world, would have been a worthy thing to be part of. But my guess is that the public at large are too brainwashed and too far down the demographic curve of third world colonisation, to really affect that kind of change.

I doubt that the UK will break up, at least in the short term. What will happen in next few decades is hard to predict. The entire global economy has peaked in terms of real prosperity and will soon begin inexorable decline.
