Nice spin, this is NOT EU policy, mostly likey a ‘study’ funded by a pro-oil ‘consultant’, saying what they wish were true. Just because the frakers dont see any need for regulation, doesnt mean they wont get it. Just look at what the un-regulated frak gas industry has done to north America, and they barely gotten started! The EU wont be as stupid as we are-they cant afford to tear up europe looking for toxic low-EROEI frak-gas.

I’m not so sure. They make make a devil’s bargain, especially when you consider how dependent they are on foreign sources of natural gas. Being held hostage by the ex-Soviets is probably something they’d like to relieve, regardless of whether or not they have to destroy their water supplies. People can feel a cold house sooner and more acutely than poisoned water. It’s just human psychology at work.
