Doomsday Machine is in Trump’s hands

Doomsday Machine is in Trump’s hands thumbnail

In 1971, Daniel Ellsberg released the Pentagon Papers, thousands of pages of the Pentagon’s secret history of U.S. involvement in Vietnam, exposing the government’s lies and helping to end the war. President Richard Nixon’s national security adviser, Henry Kissinger, called Ellsberg “the most dangerous man in America.”

Now, at 86 years old, Ellsberg is revealing for the first time that the Pentagon Papers were not the first classified documents that he removed from his secure workplace. In his new book, “The Doomsday Machine: Confessions of a Nuclear War Planner,” he details his early years at the Pentagon, and why he took thousands of pages of U.S. nuclear war plans describing the lunacy of the U.S. nuclear war policy over 55 years ago. What he discovered is frighteningly relevant today.

Last July 20 at the Pentagon, President Donald Trump reportedly shocked the military staff gathered to brief him on national security issues by suggesting he wanted to increase the nuclear arsenal tenfold. It was after that meeting that Secretary of State Rex Tillerson is said to have called Trump a “moron.” In August, NBC’s Joe Scarborough, citing an unnamed source, said Trump asked a foreign-policy adviser about using nuclear weapons. Scarborough said: “Three times [Trump] asked about the use of nuclear weapons. Three times he asked at one point if we had them why can’t we use them?” For over 70 years, the president has held the enormous power to launch nuclear weapons, but only one has used it: Harry Truman, ordering the dropping of two atomic bombs over Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Japan, killing hundreds of thousands of people. Trump, who seems to relish saber rattling and antagonizing opponents like the supreme leader of nuclear-armed North Korea, Kim Jong Un, may be pushing us to the brink of nuclear war.

Describing President Dwight Eisenhower’s nuclear war plans, which Ellsberg was tasked with improving in the early months of the Kennedy administration, the whistleblower told us on the “Democracy Now!” news hour: “They were insane. They called for first-strike, all-out war … for hitting every city – actually, every town over 25,000 – in the USSR and every city in China. … The captive nations, the East Europe satellites in the Warsaw Pact, were to be hit in their air defenses, which were all near cities, their transport points, their communications of any kind. So they were to be annihilated as well.”

Ellsberg recalled how, in 1961, the Joint Chiefs of Staff matter-of-factly predicted casualties of over 600 million people globally, when the world population was only 3 billion. “Six hundred million, that was a hundred Holocausts. And when I held the piece of paper in my hand that had that figure, that they had sent out proudly, to the president – ‘Here’s what we will do’ – I thought, ‘This is the most evil plan that has ever existed. It’s insane.’ ”

Ellsberg was summoned to the Pentagon to help manage the Cuban missile crisis in 1962, considered the closest humanity has come to nuclear annihilation. His personal experience there informs his opinion on Trump’s antagonism toward North Korea. The nuclear arsenals of both countries, he says, are “being pointed by two people who are giving very good imitations of being crazy. That’s dangerous. I hope they’re pretending. … But to pretend to be crazy with nuclear weapons is not a safe game. It’s a game of chicken. Nuclear chicken.”

Despite widespread concern with Trump’s mental stability, he remains in control of the world’s most powerful nuclear arsenal. He has promised to rain “fire and fury” on North Korea. U.S. Air Force Gen. John Hyten, commander of U.S. Strategic Command, who oversees the entire nuclear arsenal, assured the audience at a public forum in November that “we’re not stupid,” that he would reject an illegal order from Trump to launch a nuclear attack.

Not satisfied to leave the check on Trump to the generals, the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations held a hearing Nov. 14 to consider changing the law to forbid the president, alone, from being able to launch a nuclear attack. Republican Sen. Bob Corker of Tennessee, who has publicly stated his fear that Trump may start World War III, chaired the hearing. Democratic Sen. Chris Murphy of Connecticut summed up the hearing’s intent, saying, “We are concerned the president of the United States is so unstable, is so volatile, has a decision-making process that is so quixotic, that he might order a nuclear weapon strike that is wildly out of step with U.S. national security interests.”

We are closer to nuclear war than we have been in many decades, which is why Daniel Ellsberg’s example as a whistleblower and his call for people in government to expose current doomsday plans are more important than ever.

The military is in charge of Trump. Pretty obvious just look at the people around him. He likes to delegate anyway. If the generals want to go to war I bet he would agree because he put people in charge to do that. That is the real danger not Trump wanting war. He is a business man and likes to do business along with the back scratching. He does not appear to be into war mongering. He is not a military man. He likes the good life not the life of a soldier playing war games. This article is more of the same shit that is being constantly discredited today and part of the deep state civil war. The shit is being uncovered these days and it looks really bad for everyone. It sucks being an American these days.

I grew up reading Alas Babylon and On The Beach. Now you have One Second After, Jericho and the Postman. Art mimics reality. The fickle finger of fate has written on the bathroom wall. We have been weighed in the balance and found lacking. The fact that we are still here is merely an accident.

Davy actually acknowledges it sucks being an American. Wow, who knew we would see this day, this rare opportunity.

I’ll agree somewhat about what Davy says but it seems every and I mean every US president has wanted war. To exclude Trump and call him just “a business man” is absurd. He has in fact increased military activity.. or you can blame his right hand people… or just blame both.

“Wow, who knew we would see this day, this rare opportunity.”

Ahh, it is one thing to be honest and acknowledge something that is obvious. It is another thing for Americans to come on here and whale, moan and whine about being American. Not only that but to try harder than other Americans who hate America, to see who hates America the most. Then to hear all the other Anglospheric, Eurotardish, and assortments of who the frig knows other dumbass countries blaming everything from their irregular menstrual cycle to their in grown toenail on America. Come on get real.

The war-elites of the United States love genocide.  The Pentagon, the CIA, the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) and their historical predecessors from the Civil War (1861-65) on have implemented the Protestant Ethic of demonizing an enemy so that the USA could annihilate large portions, if not all, of its or his population.  It starts the war with a provocation such as President Polk’s insertion of American troops into a disputed area between newly-independent Texas and Mexico, then claiming that the Mexican military response was evil and a casus belli, which ended with the U.S. taking the entire southwest (not only Texas, but also California, New Mexico, Utah, Arizona and Nevada) from Mexico.  It was called “Manifest Destiny.”  Then there was Fort Sumter, the North’s provocation used to start the war on the South, an entirely different country, the Confederacy.  Later came the sinking of the battleship Maine in Havana harbor due to unknown causes (possibly guerrillas allowed on the ship), used to start the Spanish-American War in 1898.  Next was the curious “Zimmermann telegram” that President Wilson used to enter WW I.  In 1940-41, President F.D. Roosevelt secretly threatened the Japanese with war, which made them respond with the Pearl Harbor attack, which had been thus indirectly engineered by FDR and which we knew all about (see Robert Stinnett’s Day of Deceit).  Then there was the complete lie about a “Tonkin Gulf incident” of 1964, the excuse for entering the Vietnam War big time.  Skipping over American aggression against Serbia, the next pretense was the utterly false accusation that Iraq under Saddam Hussein was building weapons of mass destruction (WMDs), a pretext leading to the war against that nation (2003-2011) and the deaths of countless non-combatants.  This was followed by the 2011 invasion of Libya under Muammar Gaddafi with the spurious allegation that he was “attacking civilians” in his country.  America next started a “civil war” in Syria against President Bashar al-Assad using U.S.-funded “Arab Spring” protests to generate the conflict by proxy.  We are, of course, overlooking that other proxy war in Yemen where the U.S. is starving and killing untold numbers of civilians by way of supplying Saudi Arabia with information and weaponry of various types.

And so it goes.  The U.S. population is lied to or told that it is America’s “moral responsibility” (everything must be “moral” in America) to kill.  But since the Second World War with Yankland’s extensive use of the carpet-bombing of civilian populations (consummated with the nuking of Japan), the mass and indiscriminate slaughter of innocents has been the American Way.  Today the name of the military game is a mixture of drones, missiles and nuke-tipped torpedoes to obliterate an opponent’s population and economy.  All to show how “indispensable” America is.

The way a politician functions is to wage psywar on the populace, so that he can gain and maintain power.  The masses operate on emotion and are uninterested in reality.  They always want to kill the golden goose, and they fantasize that its corpse will then somehow produce even more golden eggs for them.  This is the basis of Communism (nowadays called “socialism”).  The rulership, meanwhile, imagines that by doubling down on whatever has worked in the past will work in the future.  Thus, the elites invest in ever more complexity:  factories, computerization, outsourcing, just-in-time marketing, robotization and, above all, economic and financial practices that amount to Ponzi schemes.

Eventually this complexification grinds to a halt due to the fact of diminishing returns (see Joseph Tainter on this).  In the case of the U.S., this increasing paralysis has been accelerated due to the fact that its rapacious leadership has, along with other (allegedly Bible-based) tricks, been importing ThirdWorld subhumans with their narcotics, diseases, crime, “chain immigration,” and other forms of parasitism.  The current president is attempting to stop or even reverse some of this death march, but the general necrosis is too far advanced;  he is himself now the object of an onslaught by the media and other raptors, so that he has been forced to fall back on the swordsmen and their backers, his only remaining sources of support.  Yet no matter how imperial powerholders seek to evade history, in the end they are driven willy-nilly to the last resort:  war.  This is the ultimate recourse to which the United States is slowly gravitating.  Currently it is provoking the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) by buzzing it with warplanes and sailing close to it with warships.  It wants to get that nation to react with some “Pearl-Harbor-like” attack so that the Pentagonians can have a supposed justification for nuking that country’s population without being attacked by China, the DPRK’s defender.  (The latter does not want U.S. troops on its border.)  Russia, too, is very nervous about U.S. intentions, and has ramped up its own warfighting capabilities to the point where it may now actually be superior to Washington in military might.

So America, with its Christianity-justified warring on other countries, may slowly be facing the end of its long reign.  Insubordinate elites in the rest of the world outside western Europe and the Anglosphere have become used to Yankee hypocrisy.  After Libya and the American-generated “color revolutions,” they know that nuclear weapons are their only defense against demonization and destruction by the Manifest-Destiny murderers.  And oddly, there is now an even crazier actor which believes in its own form of Manifest Destiny:  Jihadist Islam.  So the time remaining to the indispensable nation may be even shorter than everyone thinks.

That is not to say that were not in a dangerous situation, with North-Korea. But that would have been true for every administration. Trump was wise enough to not let Syria escalate and take a de facto US loss.

All because your monkey politics/identity/ego/tribal social position trumped all else. It’s totally true that a man’s true character comes out in great adversity. Denial is a form of cowardliness. Nothing unusual there, (except the circumstances) as most humans are ruled by their fear of what the other tribal monkeys think of them most of the time.

    The Big Fat Fucking Lie

“You are being lied to on an epic scale so vast it defies human understanding.”

“James Hansen said at the last COP soiree that after 20 years of trying, solar/wind energy power just 1% of Total World Energy Demand.”

‘By 2050, GDP will grow 300%, emissions have to drop 100%, all for a 95% chance of failing to remain below 2 C, which Hansen calls a “disaster”.

Here’s Paul Beckwith on why the COP shin digs don’t work. You got small African countries sending hundreds of delegates to these conferences for little more than an exotic vacation. These conferences are not populated by great minds, they’re peopled by politicians and media whores.

Kevin Anderson says we have 95% chance of failure staying below 2 C. Remember, 2 C is a disaster, we have a 5% chance of achieving “disaster” and a 95% chance of catastrophic cascading collapse by 2050, which is 30 years away.

Why Huge Climate Policy and Science Conferences Fail

James Hansen said at the last COP soiree that after 20 years of trying, solar/wind energy power just 1% of Total World Energy Demand.

James Hansen at #COP23: Nuclear Power? Are Renewables Enough?

James Hansen: 2 Degrees is a Recipe for Disaster

The world gets over 80% of its energy from fossil fuels. The Paris agreement says that we have to reduce fossil energy 95% below 1990 levels by 2050, yet GDP is going to grow 300% by then. We are promising to do this just to keep temperatures from rising over 2 C. James Hansen calls 2 C a “disaster”. It’s like taking a child to the edge of a cliff and telling them they’ll float up to heaven if they jump off.

The Insane Paris Climate Accord – Dr Roger Bezdek

Kevin Anderson says we have 95% chance of failure staying below 2 C. Remember, 2 C is a disaster, we have a 5% chance of achieving “disaster” and a 95% chance of catastrophic cascading collapse by 2050, which is 30 years away.

It gets better, the big lie that is. We also have to reduce emissions to **zero** by 2050. We have to reduce emissions to zero, reduce fossil use 95% and triple GDP in 30 years. This is absolutely fucking impossible.

The lifestyles of LA’s rich and famous include concierge firefighters

“But many residents of the Los Angeles area’s most exclusive neighborhoods have greater peace of mind. They can decamp to, presumably, a luxury hotel, with the knowledge that private firefighters will be rushing in to fireproof their properties, or even tame nearby flames that put their posh homes in jeopardy.

Wildfire Defense System, whose president David Torgenson talked to Quartz, is one of the firms that has been dispatching crews to protect homes in at-risk zones this week. Such private firefighters clear combustible objects around a house, including patio furniture or leaves on the roof. They also often spray the perimeter of a property or the home itself with fire-blocking gels and foams, and they may arrive with their own sprinklers or water, although they can also hook up to public hydrants.

According to the Wall Street Journal (paywall), some private firefighters will even snap and email photos of a secured home to its worried owner.”

“The costs of these services are not billed to individual clients directly, but to insurers like AIG and Chubb, which have been offering private fire protection as an added coverage option in fancier and fire-prone ZIP codes since 2005 and 2008, respectively, the Journal also reports. Homeowners can pay several thousand dollars annually for the extra layer of insurance, depending on the value of their lairs. And in hundreds of ZIP codes in 18 states, they do.”

“To writer and climate activist Naomi Klein, however, the entire system is a sign that “disaster apartheid” is here: As climate change promises to introduce destructive weather events with increasing regularity, what “surviving” a crisis means will diverge greatly along income lines, she argues.

Klein, who first coined the phrase in her 2008 book Shock Doctrine, recently told the Intercept that the situation in California exemplifies it. The rich have luxuries like AIG’s special Wildfire Protection Unit, while, she noted, “4,000 of California’s state firefighters are prison inmates being paid between one and two dollars an hour to fight fires.”

Disaster apartheid, Klein said, is “rapidly accelerating,” and firefighting is only one way that it has materialized.”

Since retards occupy most, if not all key positions in the visible, formal government of the amerikan empire, and its retarded ‘consumer-serfs keep putting them there by encouraging them to hold constant(but thoroughly rigged) contests between competing retards, we can safely conclude amerika consists of retards all the way down.

    2002: 7 minutes until midnight.
    2017 Doomsday Clock:

    2007: 5 minutes until midnight.
    2010: 6 minutes until midnight.
    2012: 5 minutes until midnight.
    2015: 3 minutes until midnight.
    2016: 3 minutes until midnight.
    2017: 2 1/2 minutes until midnight.
    2018: ???? We shall see.

“This year marks the 70th anniversary of the Doomsday Clock, a graphic that appeared on the first cover of the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists as it transitioned from a six-page, black-and- white newsletter to a full-fledged magazine.

For its first cover, the editors sought an image that represented a seriousness of purpose and an urgent call for action. The Clock, and the countdown to midnight that it implied, fit the bill perfectly. The Doomsday Clock, as it came to be called, has served as a globally recognized arbiter of the planet’s health and safety ever since.”

We are in uncharted waters. The monsters are all around us disguised as world leaders. Are YOU prepared?

You bet, women don’t like depressed nihilists like you. And on top of that most ladies do not like to be strangled during sex, as is your self-admitted prefered sex-practice. You even nicked yourself after that perversion:

“Cancer monkey”, that is you, looking in the mirror.

The signs are everywhere of an impending ecological apocalypse. Thank YOU humanity.

“In recent decades jellyfish species have come to be thought of as the durable and opportunistic inheritors of our imperiled seas. Jellyfish blooms—the intermittent, and now widely reported, flourishing of vast swarms—are held by many to augur the depletion of marine biomes; they are seen as a signal that the oceans have been overwarmed, overfished, acidified, and befouled.”

    @ Aire

    “Every US president wanted war.”

I disagree. President Carter is the only president since Herbert Hoover not to have engaged the US in incessant warfare. Further, he is the only president to have negotiated a true and lasting Middle East peace agreement. He addressed the American people honestly and as adults. For this he was replaced with it’s morning in America BS. The people would rather hear fairy tales.

Clog, I am far from depressed. Depressed people don’t make dozens of long winded (but awesome & funny) comments on multiple sites in between cooking, exercising, reading, visiting mom & family regularly and odd jobs. Have you ever actually read a description of what depressed people do? Ever known a person who was afflicted with depression? I have. My cousin. She barely got out of bed, did not shower for weeks, had a leave of absence from work, cried, hid, barely ate and expressed complete hopelessness. This is a woman who was always bubbly and social her whole life. It was like a switch went and stole 18 months of her life.

Stop using words you don’t know the definition of.

clog, please tell us how you ‘know’ what most women want in & out of bed? How do you know this?

Have you ever been married? Lived with a woman? I doubt it.

clog the first woman I chocked during sex was because she asked me. I had never done it before. She was not the last.

You don’t know anything about women or sex with them. Many like to be tied up and ‘Cave Manned’ when you walk in the door all dirty & sweaty after a hard days work. Apparently some prefer it that way all the time. Some, like my ex’es wanted different types of sex at different times based on their mysterious emotions (that’s the shit I could never figure out, try as I might.)

It’s just sex you fucking retard. It’s about pleasure and also closeness & connecting at another level depending on the people and their type of relationship. I know you don’t know any of this stuff real humans experience because you live in your self created nationalist nazi euroland magical kingdom in your skull. Now I can guarantee you that is something most women want no part of.

Have you ever been married? Lived with a woman? I doubt it.

The first woman I asked to marry was a Canadian. I had no money, she was a student. In those cases the Atlantic is very wide. My Canadian dream ended when a job application conversation in a hotel room with a Canadian entrepreneur, held during a World Solar Energy Conference in a large European city during the eighties, didn’t lead to the desired result. During that conference I held a presentation as well based on my phd-work on energy storage. Ah well, it was a beautiful Summer anyway. It also meant the end of my renewable energy career, as Reagan came to power, symbolically removed Carter’s solar panels from the roof of the White House and renewable energy was dead, certainly in oil & gas country and birthplace of Anglosphere Holland.

A few years later I did marry, again with a foreigner, with all the complications that comes with it. I was very cosmopolitan minded in the years before 2000. Worked mostly abroad, mostly Germany but also France, Switzerland and Belgium, making loads of liberal yuppie IT-money as a freelancer. The dot-com craze 1999-2001 were my financial top years, but I lost half of it during the divorce shortly after. She hated my freelance life and I refused to give it up. And in the end I wanted to live in Holland, not Germany.

It’s just sex you fucking retard.

Ah yes, the typical jewish attitude of “inconsequential sex”, including porn. “Shoot your shot”. Porn as “freedom of expression”, your sheenies worked so hard for to get excepted as the norm. The consequence is a demoralized, ruined and addicted America, with family life mostly destroyed.

It is nice btw to see all these jewish Hollywood and polit-clowns being exposed for the sexual predators that your lot are.

    #metoo

F* you with your “recreational” sadistic sex.

you live in your self created nationalist nazi euroland magical kingdom

We’ll see who has the last laugh. The whole f* planet is lusting after American a** and after Iraq, Syria we all smell blood, your blood. We have one century worth of open scores, especially Germans and Russians. Payday has arrived.

Now why don’t you do us in Europe a favor and import another 50 million Somalis into America for us and help blow up your last hold on power in this world, after you lost the USSR gradually after 1938.

Within a decade you will suffer a collective kosher downgrade a la the downfall of Grenada in 1492 and subsequent expulsion from Spain and it took your lot two full centuries to be planted, by the Dutch, who needed your money for the Dutch invasion of Britain, straight into the new established Central Bank of London in 1689, the true beginning of Anglo-Zionism. Which is now about to end with the coming Balkanization of America.

And with the downfall of Anglo-Zionism, all the lies behind WW1, communism and WW2 will fall with it. One giant cleanup operation. Nobody of you has a defense against my alternative explanations. Easy meat.

The End of the West, let’s bring it on.

EU will not follow Trump and gives Netayahoo the finger:

    http://www.spiegel.de/politik/ausland/jerusalem-eu-aussenminister-lassen-benjamin-netanyahu-abblitzen-a-1182784.html

According to an unanimous EU, including Trump-lovers like Hungary and the Czech Republic, only a two-state solution is a realistic one and Jeruzalem should be a shared capital.

    Bibi exit stage left.

Well done EU! They said no to the Sanhedrin.

    Feels really good.
