Pickens just wants everyone to get on the natural gas bandwagon because that’s where he’s placed his bets. But natural gas is not a solution to the problem. What we need to do is cut back our energy use to a sustainable level. Switching to natural gas can’t achieve that any better than any other pseudo solution that the corporations are touting.

Beware billionaires bearing investment suggestions…as they did not get their millions ethically. None of them. They got it on the backs of common people who believed their BS and lost their…

Natural gas is ok, but a massive switch would make that 100 years worth disappear in 10 or less. Reality is that we are going to have to do with less of everything from now on and trying to fight it will only cause the pain to be greater.

I agree with him on America’s lack of an engery plan. I would feel a lot better if the government would get that particular conversation started. He may be an ‘evil billionaire’ but he probably has more of an opportunity to get that to happen than the average joe.

The problem with oil prices is that oil has a monopoly on transportation fuels. We need some competition and choice at the pump. Bring on the electric, flex-fuel, hybrid, CNG, LNG and hydrogen fueled vehicles. There is no silver bullet but some competition at the pump might help. A monopoly is only good for the monopoly.

Why any still pays any attention to that old windbag is beyond me. This is a guy that wants the amerikan govt to use public money to subsidize private transportation, cars and ‘rigs’, so, his, private corporation can profit from selling publicly subsidized (and toxic) frak-gas to power the unsustained and grossly in-efficent amerikan ‘transportation’ system.

Yea why not? It always worked in the past….

Please read my post “Politico: Oil/Energy Independence” in the Economics section of the forum and why “getting off foreign oil” is such a fallacy.
