Really? Producing just under 8 million barrels a day will cause the US to be energy independent?

It would have to double to reach that dream. Heh.

Fuax news RoFL! Last time I looked, the US was the #1 IMPORTER of energy-period. Unless the definition of ‘energy-independent’ has been amended to mean its exact opposite…. then no haha. Even if amerikans expanded the definition of ‘US energy’ to include ALL of North AND South America, it still wouldnt be enough.

    Good for a laugh though…

Last week the US burned exactly 20 million barrels every single day.
The US IMPORTED 7.5 million of those
    every single day last week.
To be fair, same time last year we imported 9.7 M B p/d.

If we make impossible strides converting to (domestic) natural gas
for transportation, we still need an additional 6 million barrels a day, at minimum.

Exported finished product to Latin America Gasoline and diesel, is counted into that gross 20 M B p/d If we stop exports, we also lose important influence in the region.

I believe with additional Canadian Crude
    and careful conservation, a semblance
    of NORTH American energy independence
is achievable. (here comes Keystone extention)

We may well find out before Spring if we
are able to manage w/o emptying SPR.

The only thing the US is getting closer to energy-wise is an steep energy cliff.

And my own pet peeve: “Energy independence” means the US economy would function without any energy…domestically produced or imported. Obviously they mean independence from imported energy. But the term is constantly misused. Perhaps just for dramatic effect but I suspect more to keep the public from focusing that if we were to completely replace all imports the US consumers would still be transferring over $600 billion per year to the oil patch. And that doesn’t include the monies it transfer for the NG and coal energy we consume…add about another $120 billion per year.

So “energy independence” would mean transferring about 3/4 of a $TRILLION per year from the consumers to the energy industry.

    Everyone feeling “free” now? LOL.

Bob – Heck…forget North American energy independence. The world is currently energy independent: we’re not importing oil from anywhere else in the solar system.

All together now: “Born free…”. LOL.

Actually I always liked this version better: “Born free, my daddy’s a doctor”.

As we know, Fracked wells simply do not deplete. Neither do any of the conventional wells that are currently producing. Therefore, as we continue to drill more and more (non-depleting) fracked wells, our production will forever escalate to infinity.

Older wells went dry. That was the old days, before infinite technology made it possible to violate the laws of mass-energy.

Given that we will never again have oil wells that deplete, we are clearly on the road to nirvana/energy independence. Hurray!!!

This is a lot different from what Fox was saying a year or two ago. The fox clips are in this short XL video:

Faux noise is a RepubliCON infomercial spewing their right wing agenda………. No facts, just agenda driven spin….. Can anything they say be trusted……..ever

“John, I spent 18 years in the oil business as you well know. Here’s my issue though.
We’re producing more oil then we ever have before. We’re on our way to energy independence thanks to fracking, thanks to natural gas.”

Wrong about surpassing our peak production, and wrong about us heading towards energy independence.

But certainly we are a country that believes things similar to this. The government is planning another amnesty for illegals and predicting another 100 million people in 60 years.

Faux Noise is a RepubliCON informercial with their agenda for the top 1% putting a spin on every story.

People need to consider the source…. it is just an advertisement.
