Still confused why crony capitalist #1, the “rustic” Octogenarian of Omaha, and Obama tax advisor #1, Warren Buffett has been aggressively attempting to corner the railroad market, while the administration relentlessly refuses to allow assorted new, and very much competing petroleum pipelines from America’s neighbor to the north to cross through the US (in gratitude for the former’s generous “tax advice” and pedigree by association)? Hint: it’s not concern about the environment. The answer is the chart below.

Keystone? No Keystone? We’re pretty well dicked either way. McKibben’s anti- or other peoples’ pro- … ain’t gonna make a dime’s worth ‘o difference when things turn nasty. By all means, go to Washington carrying a sign if you’re so inclined, that might at least bring some solace to your conscience as a ‘responsible citizen.’ I admit I’d be tempted if I lived in the States, because of the sheer obscenity of it all. But it won’t amount to more than a hiccup in the juggernaut’s program.
My advice would be to get local, down and dirty, permaculture, face-to-face politics and the rest of it, if you’re lucky enough to have that option.
