Every country that imports energy needs to develop a plan to become more energy self sufficient. Economic security and national security will depend on it. It is time to diversify energy types and sources. A transition to more alternative sources like wind, solar, geothermal and second generation biofuels made from algae, cellulose and waste will provide some diversification.
