“Houston We Have a Problem” steps inside the US oil industry to hear the truth about oil, straight from the hearts of Texas oilmen themselves. Decades of American presidents have warned against dependence on foreign oil and US energy policy has always been a strategy of defense, not offense. Today, we’re in the midst of reaching peak oil peak while the world’s energy demand is skyrocketing. The 21st century will belong to the most energy-independent and oilmen acknowledge that being addicted to cheap oil is the drug that could be the nation’s downfall. Director Nicole Torre explains that today’s oilmen are becoming the new wildcatters — for renewable energy.
