Report Draws New Safety Concerns

BOSTON — Liquefied natural gas terminals drew new concerns Tuesday after a new report pointed to devastating consequences should an LNG tanker become the target of a terrorist attack.
NewsCenter 5’s Amalia Barreda reported that the study said that if an LNG vessel was attacked and the contents ignited, a thermal blast would result. The fire would be so hot that it would melt steel hundreds of feet away and give people second-degree burns more than one mile away.
