Iran discovered “vast” crude oil reserves in the Caspian Sea, the state-run Mehr news agency reported, without citing anyone.
The National Iranian Oil Co. found the reserves after completing part of its exploration studies of the Sardar Jangal natural-gas field in the Caspian, the agency said. The Oil Ministry will announce details of the new oil field soon, according to Mehr.

I’m glad they found a “vast” amount and not just a “huge” amount.

My wife keeps a ‘vast’ amount in her car’s petrol tank. Maybe in coming centuries it will become the major source for the world’s liquid fuel. Maybe.

And why cannot Iran find a large reservoir of natural gas? After all, they already have one of the largest reserves in the world. China knows that and is buying it up. Along with a large percentage of Iran’s oil.
Does the Empire attack none resource rich countries? No. Take North Korea for example. Illegal nukes (what we are trying to prevent Iran from getting) a leadership far more dangerous than Iran’s, and the capability to start World War 3. But, other than a few sanctions, we ignore them. No resources. No threat to overthrow the dollar. So, ignored.
But EXXON & BP would love to get their hands on Iran’s resources, and sell it to the Empire for their SUVs and war machine.
