World’s refineries need flexibility, report says

Greater variety of raw materials likely to be in mix

The world’s refineries must adapt to a plethora of raw materials to avoid shortfalls in meeting global demand for diesel and jet fuel, a leading energy consulting firm is reporting today.

Cambridge Energy Research Associates says its analysis of global refining capacity shows that increased ability to process a greater variety of raw materials is key to the industry’s future.

The report by CERA is in today’s lineup at its CERAWeek annual conference in Houston, featuring key industry players in oil, gas and power.

Today’s theme is oil, with sessions and speakers focusing on supply, exploration costs, energy and the economy, refining capacity and climate change.
