Vietnam is building 14 hydroelectric plants to cover part of its energy demands for the next decades, said official sources on Wednesday.
Vietnam is an important producer of hydrocarbons in South East Asia but due to savings and ecological reasons, the country wants to take advantage of its many large rivers.
..The size of the plan is so big that for the year 2010 he government plans to relocate almost 19,000 families to create an artificial lake of almost six billion cubic meters to be used for irrigation and to prevent floods.
