Vehicles biggest consumers of energy

Driving around consumes the most energy in most Malaysian urban households, more than the combined amount for other needs such as lighting, cooking and cooling.

According to the 2004/2005 “Malaysian Urban Household Energy Consumption Patterns” study by the Centre for Environment, Technology and Development Malaysia (Cetdem), petrol for vehicles constitutes 68% of total energy consumption.
